Summary
CASTIEL, the Complex Artificial Symbolic and Tactile Intelligence capable of Emotional Learning, is a personal AI under development at The Sandover Corporation. In hopes of impressing the company’s leadership, Sam’s tech team spends the summer of 2032 installing CASTIELs in the homes of executives. Dean, a Senior Vice President of Marketing who happens to be Sam’s workaholic older brother, is one of those executives.
Though Dean starts out skeptical of personal AIs, he and CASTIEL soon become fast friends, and Dean begins developing a new marketing strategy for CASTIEL that emphasizes the bonds between machines and humans. But when the board of directors finally makes good on a threat to shutter the CASTIEL program permanently, Dean has to rely on all his skills as a marketer to get them to change course and save CASTIEL.

Summary
Castiel Shurley, pen name Castiel Novak, was once a confessional poetry wunderkind. Now, though, he’s 34 and hasn’t published a new collection in almost seven years. He can bemoan the vagaries of writer’s block and the challenges of parenting a teenage son while teaching full-time all he wants, but excuses aren’t going to impress his agent, his publisher, or his tenure committee. He’s in serious danger of becoming a washed-up literary fluke before even seeing middle age.
At the end of his rope, Castiel repairs to his sister Anna’s vacation home on Lake Pend Oreille, hoping a change of scenery will ungum his creative works. On one of their first trips into town, Jack strikes up a conversation in the parking lot of the local grocery store with the most beautiful man Castiel has ever seen, and that’s when Castiel feels it: his muse coming back after a half-decade of dormancy.
No matter what, he has to see this man again somehow. Too bad he has no idea who he is.

Summary
The Winchesters are hunters who subsist on the animals around their forest home. For as long as Dean can remember, they’ve been favored by Castiel, the God of the Hunt. They aren’t wealthy, but they’ve never gone hungry, and there’s even enough money for John to send Sam to school.
Lately, though, that’s been changing. They’re bringing in less and less game, and John says it’s because Castiel is displeased with them. His hunch is seemingly confirmed when Sam is abducted one day.
When Dean journeys to the Virgin Grove to plead for his brother’s life, however, Castiel informs him that Sam has in fact been taken by Lucifer, the God of the Dead, as part of an ancient settlement that maintains peace among the pantheon. A desperate Dean pledges his soul to Castiel if the Wild God helps him rescue Sam from his fate. Castiel accepts, and the two set out on an adventure that will change them both.

Summary
At Sam’s insistence, Dean goes to the local hospital to get his COVID-19 vaccine. His nurse, Castiel, is new to town, and Dean enjoys chatting with him so much that he sort of…inadvertently asks him out during the 15-minute post-shot observation period.
Though he reminds Dean that the pandemic makes going out pretty difficult, Castiel is deeply flattered. Ever since moving to North Dakota five months ago so that his brother could shoot a documentary called Halcyon Days, Castiel’s been counting down the weeks until they could leave. Maybe Dean is a reason to stay—or at least a way for him to pass the time.

Summary
In many ways, Dean has a good life—a spacious house in the Shenandoah Valley, the thriving farm he inherited from his late father, a devoted brother who lives only an hour and a half away. But he’s missing the one thing he wants most of all: someone he can take care of and build a life with. Or, as Sam would put it, someone to cook for.
He figures finding The One isn’t something he can make happen. But the cooking blog his Instagram followers have been clamoring for? He can do that.
And if flirting with the nerdy far-left activist who found his food pictures brings in more engagement to his culinary creations…well, he tells himself that it’s all part of the social media game.

Summary
On Christmas Day each year, Castiel’s extended family gathers for an all-day brunch in the largest dining room of the Hotel del Coronado. Dean is joining them for the first time this year, and while the meal is excellent, being so close to the site of his ahuizotl attack is difficult for him. But he reassured Castiel repeatedly over the past month that he’d be okay, so he’s doing his best to maintain an even keel.
Everyone starts heading home around sunset, and Dean decides that it’s finally time to face his fear. He asks Castiel to go on a walk with him down Coronado Beach. Maybe he can finally let go of the ahuizotl and find a way to love the ocean again.

Summary
“Adam?” Michael was saying.
“Hmm? Oh, sorry.” Adam turned away from the tree and smiled at the others.
“We were just wondering how you’re liking Ocean Springs,” Sam said.
“It’s, uh, charming.” Adam rubbed his neck. “Lots of artists.”
“Kind of a random place to end up,” Dean commented. “Didn’t feel like heading back to Minnesota?”
Adam barely held back an eyeroll. Of course Dean wouldn’t understand it. After his own stint in Hell, he’d jumped straight back into the fire. Or would it be the frying pan? This was why Adam had taken up painting and not writing.
“Nah,” Adam said breezily. “After a thousand years in the Cage and narrowly surviving the end of the universe, I figured I at least deserved to live somewhere warm.”

Summary
Dean and Sam are planning to spend Christmas alone this year, just like every other year since Dad died. They have their miniature fake tree with the few gifts underneath that the two of them can afford on Dean’s bartender wages and Sam’s campus job. They have a “plant-based roast” in the fridge for Christmas dinner because, to Dean’s chagrin, Sam went vegan over the summer. It’s a pretty uneventful end to 2015, all things considered.
Then, the morning of December 23rd, a pipe bursts in the apartment of one of Sam’s friends, and he comes over to stay until his landlord gives him the all-clear to return. Dean meets him at breakfast on Christmas Eve, and…crap. He’s buff. And hot. And flirty. And he speaks all sorts of languages in that deep, sexy voice of his.
But Dean is straight! There’s no way he’ll make a total fool of himself and embarrass his brother. He’s got this.

Summary
“Hello, Dean.”
Dean spun around. Amara had arrived right behind him, toting a dizzying polychromatic array of bags in both hands. She was wearing a cape—a literal cape—in shocking white. An ushanka in the same white was wearing her.
“Hey, there you are.” Dean snorted. “Why’re you dressed like Ivana Humpalot?”
“Who?”
“Uh, don’t worry about it. Just a friend of mine.”

Summary
When Prince Castiel wanders out into a winter’s day without his mittens, Captain of the Guard Singer sends one of his squires, Dean Winchester, after him. Accompanying the prince on his walk around the garden is Dean’s first mission as a knight, however mundane it is and however unexpectedly it came about.
As they walk through the palace’s hedge maze, Castiel relates to Dean a story about primordial dragons locked in an ancient battle. Unfortunately for Dean, that isn’t the only tale he’s spinning.

Summary
“‘Dear Dad,’” Castiel read. “‘Mom and I are still on our road trip to the Grand Canyon. She’s a way slower driver than Dean! It’s taking forever!’”
Dean chuckled. “Looks like I created a speed demon.”
“Kelly probably flouts the speed limit less than you do,” Castiel agreed. “‘We stopped in this little town in Southern Colorado for lunch, and I felt this weird vibration of you nearby! Mom and I walked around until we found this coat in a thrift store. It looks kind of like your other coats! Was this your coat before I was born? Why’d you give it away?’”

“Dean, have I ever told you how much I respect all the knowledge you have?”
Dean blinked. “What? What knowledge?”
“You know how to grow things. How nature works. And you’re so confident and authoritative when you talk about horticulture. It’s very….”
“Sexy?” Dean winked.
“Comforting,” Castiel finished. “And sexy too, I guess.”
