“Adora obviously wants to be friends, but Catra keeps pushing it off,” Entrapta adds in, and based off the way both Glimmer and Bow grimace, that wasn’t supposed to be mentioned.
“So what,” Adora starts, “you just… handcuffed us together in our sleep?”

Catra suddenly laughs, because what is she doing? She’s a closeted lesbian who hasn’t spoken to her family in years because of it, she’s struggling financially through grad school, she lives in a shitty apartment, and she’s just, essentially, offered to help a ghost figure out how to be a ghost.
But the hopeful look in Adora’s eyes is still there, and she’s wearing the first genuine smile Catra’s ever seen on her, and she’s almost blindsided by how beautiful Adora is.
So Catra nods and says, “yeah. I’ll help you figure it out,” because really, how hard can it be?
(Really, she has no idea what she’s getting herself into.)

It’s been, like, an hour, and the mouse is still out here, in the same spot. I, um, I think it’s dehydrated. It was over ninety degrees today, and the city is still, um. Pretty sticky?” Adora paused for a moment, taking an audible deep breath. “I’m bringing it some water. And I’m… I’m terrified. Of it. I’m terrified of the mouse. I—” Another shaky breath. Her voice suddenly dropped to a horrified whisper. “Oh my God, I’m scared of a mouse.”
There was a long silence, and then:
Third new message. Received—
Catra ended the call. She couldn’t breathe. Trembling with unvoiced laughter, she checked her call log.
Seven. Seven missed calls.
After going on her first ever hiking date, Catra barely made it into bed before she passed out. Daylight brought with it a few unexpected things.
Waking up early, for one; waking up feeling rested, for another; and waking up to… a slew of voicemails? From Adora?

It was a quaint-looking building from the outside. One storey of grey, weathered cobble, five-foot paned windows peering in, a steepled roof with an old-fashioned wooden sign bound to the overhang by chains. Burned onto one side of the swinging board was a rather rudimentary design of an acoustic guitar. On the other side, the name of the shop, 'The Hills'. Indeed, despite its simple exterior, The Hills lived up to its tagline: always alive with the sound of music.
(Glimmer claimed she groaned every time her father made a pun like this, but Micah insisted that it was her idea. Since eight-year-old Gimmer is in the long-distant past, the truth will forever remain a mystery.)
It had become a staple of the local community. Whether you needed a recorder for school, wanted to meet like-minded people browsing through records and CDs, test new recording equipment, even live out the fantasy of smashing a guitar—The Hills had you covered.
Perhaps it was high time for these four walls to facilitate one more monumental ask: reconciliation.

Melog has historically been an excellent judge of character, for both people and animals, but Catra is still understandably nervous. The wolf, however, simply trots into the waiting room and sits down in the center, looking at her expectantly.
She sighs as she notices a gash on its shoulder, blood threatening to drip onto the floor. Rolling her eyes, Catra jerks her head towards the back of the office. “C’mon. If you’re gonna come all the way here, might as well fix you up,” she says, leading the way.
