“M’ tired,” He says to Techno, letting himself fall face first into his bed, the blankets almost swallowing him whole. Techno chuckles softly from above him, his fingers brushing through his feathers gently, straightening them out.
Tommy can’t help the way he leans in closer to his touch, warmth prickling along his feathers wherever Techno touches. He doesn’t see the way Technos eyes swirl with a dark satisfaction, the way possessiveness curls his lips up as he preens his feathers, listening to Tommy’s soft coos.
“Yeah?” Techno asks, and Tommy nods his head, one of his eyes opening to stare at Techno.
Or vigilante Tommy owes the Syndicate a life debt, yet he somehow manages to worm his way into their hearts and become part of their family.

Tommy isn’t sure how long he’s just sitting there, a hand in his hair and a wing wrapped around him like a thick blanket. He’s warm and comfortable but he can’t sleep. He’s not supposed to. He’s scared, everything is wrong, and he’s pretty sure you’re not supposed to sleep when being kidnapped.
Oh.
Everything falls still as the fuzzy pieces finally connect.
He’s being fucking kidnapped, isn’t he? They fucking drugged him. With the goddamn coke.
Tommy chokes out a whimper.
His eyes are closed again, but this time he can’t open them.

Tommy scoffs. “Fine. Whatever.” Stones and rubble scatter as Tommy stumbles off of the pile. “You’re so boring now,” Tommy complains, kicking one of the loose pebbles. “Stop moping and go back to fucking normal.”
Tommy only tries to distract Techno a few more times. When Tommy finds old, vulgar graffiti, or when he grabs a stick and pretends it's a sword, or when he picks a few spare wildflowers and holds them out for Techno to take.
Techno turns away from them.
Tommy stops trying after that.

After getting bit, Tommy reveals that he's immune—only seconds before Techno almost pulls the trigger.
Techno is thrown into a devastation, struggling through guilt, nightmares, and a sense of responsibility.
Tommy just wants Techno to stop ignoring him.

Eddie fumbles in rolling the blunt. They’re sitting in Eddie’s room while he rolls on the tray balanced on his knees. “You’re — you’re giving me a key?”
“Yeah. I don’t know if you want to move out of here but uh… option is there if you uhm, need it?”
He stays staring at Steve, fingers paused over the tray like the ridiculous caricature of a stoner caught red handed by the cops. “For real? What about rent?”
“Yeah man, of course. I know you haven’t been sleeping great here for obvious reasons and like, a new place isn’t going to help that much but…” He shrugs. “Got more rooms than I know what to do with, so fuck rent. I’m getting keys for you and Rob next week and maybe some for the kids, I don’t know if I trust them with keys to my house.”

There was a deafening growl, one that shook Tommy to the bone.
A blur of reds and mahogany streaked passed him, but the figure only paused for a moment before he rounded on the golden wolf. Tommy had barely managed to dodge Techno’s first lunge. There was no way he’d be able to do it again.

Techno just sits on the other end of the couch and bounces his leg, mostly just looking at the fire, but occasionally glancing at Tommy.
“So, uh, you do anything interesting in school today?” he asks, Tommy would laugh at his awkwardness if he wasn’t so confused.
“I failed a math test,” he says. God he wishes he could go back to that being his biggest problem.

A ferocious roar fills the building. It’s voice is deep, low and gravely. The teenager can feel the vibrations shake his bones. He begins to shiver in Wilbur’s hold. He wishes that this had happened a little later, after he got turned. Then he wouldn’t have had to deal with his frantically beating, mortal heart. The pure adrenaline rushing through his veins with oh-my-god-I’m-going-to-die.
He places his ear against Wilbur’s chest, becoming grounded by how cold and silent it is. A soft coo spills out of Wilbur’s lips as he wraps his arms around him. “It’s okay.” Wilbur repeats, and at this point Tommy isn’t sure if he’s saying that to convince Tommy or to convince himself.
“Wilbur,” Tommy’s hands grip Wilbur’s shirt. “We need to hide.”
The hand in his hair stills, and Wilbur’s breath washes over Tommy’s forehead like an arctic wind. “I’m afraid darling, that it’s just a little…too late for that.”

Donnie offers back a pathetic grin. “I’m fine.” The words are quick, seamless. Mikey smiles something bright at him, the answer giving no one anything to think about, nothing to consider. Mikey is busy, busy like Donnie is, and he can’t bring himself to throw another thing onto the youngest brother.
He feels his shell pounding. Flesh ticking like clockwork. There’s no pain, not yet, just brass bright growing stains in his flawless techwear. No one notices.
Good. He’s got a lot of work to do.

Summary
Wilbur's baby brother was the cutest thing in the world.
Sure, some people claimed their little siblings were cuter but obviously they were wrong. Maybe puppies, kittens, and baby rabbits, and all those other tiny animals were adorable as well, but Tommy had them all beat by a landslide. None of them could come close to how cute Tommy was. Ever since that first time he laid eyes on him, Wilbur knew Tommy was his and he swore that he would be Tommy's.
"Wilby! Wilby, look! I found a sand crab!" Tommy came running up to his brother, cupping something in his grasp. The smile that was permanently on his face whenever he saw Tommy grew at the sheer joy the child was experiencing. No more walls for his baby. Just open sky and as much love and care and happiness as he could ever want.

Wilbur and his little brother spend a day at the beach. Tommy catches a sandcrab.
Absolutely nothing else happens. No sirree.
