When the Council of Allies decrees that the former Winter Soldier must enter into a correctional marriage or be executed, however, Clint and Bucky take the leap. Together, they will need to navigate the burden of the ring-bound curse, their new lives in the neglected keep of Waverly, and the secrets of their past.

“What’s a guy like you doing in a place like this?” Clint says, instead.
Barnes snorts. “Having a drink,” he says, then gives Clint another one of those appraising looks. “You a professional?” he says, after a second, and Clint is momentarily confused.
A professional what?
And then he realizes Barnes must be talking about pool, and Clint huffs a laugh. “Only when there’s money involved,” he says, smirking, and Barnes kind of nods, like that makes any sort of sense.
Then Barnes nods again, a little more firmly, and says “You got a place?”
Which is about the point that Clint realizes that he’s not meeting the Winter Soldier in a bar, he’s being picked up by the Winter Soldier in a bar and-
“Yeah,” he croaks, clears his throat, thinks wildly that he’s really fucking glad Kate has Lucky for a few days, and says “Yeah, I got a place.”
Or, how Bucky got his groove back.
(And Clint too, but it was a different sort of groove)

He uses that free hand to pull the smoke away, and he drops it off the edge of the Tower and Clint almost wants to laugh.
‘Sorry.’ It’s clumsily signed, like he just learned it. “I said,” Bucky goes on, a sedate pace and he’s got good lips—full and expressive, “sucks, doesn’t it?”
“What?” Clint asks.
Bucky just laughs and shrugs, and Clint has a feeling he means all of it. So, he nods. For the first time he feels like he’s telling the truth.

Summary
A year after the Winter Soldier failed his mission in DC, Bucky Barnes is doing his best to stay under the radar from both Hydra and Steve Rogers. His hope for a peaceful day-to-day life in limbo goes awry, however, when he meets Queens’ newest hero; a pure-hearted kid with a death wish and a ridiculous pair of red and blue pajamas.
The last thing Steve expects when he finally tracks Bucky down is that, not only has the man been living in Queens all this time, right under his nose, but also that, in the two years since they last saw each other, Bucky somehow acquired a kid.
Alternatively: How Peter Parker effectively fucks over Bucky Barnes, and also totally saves him.

Eskel stepped in front of him, blocking his path. “Where’s your cane?” he asked gently.
Geralt knew by now that Eskel wasn’t asking him to make him feel like he was invalid, he was just concerned about his well being. But that didn’t stop Geralt from rolling his eyes.
“In our room,” he muttered. He didn’t use the cane that Lambert had carved for him many, many winters ago very often. Only when the ache in his leg became so persistent that he couldn’t keep his footing.
He didn’t bother to tell Eskel that using his cane would make no difference since he could hardly put weight on it to begin with. It hadn’t gotten this bad in a while and he didn’t want to worry him.
“Well at least let me help you to the couch and then I’ll go grab it for you,” Eskel said, taking the book from Geralt and offering him his arm.
Geralt sighed. He knew that he reeked of the sharp, acidic scent of pain and that Eskel would realize sooner or later that it was considerably worse than usual, if he hadn’t already.
