One day at the zoo, Harry Potter, who has always struggled with being "different" in the Dursley household, gets some uplifting advice from a transgender boa constrictor.
A series of scenes and one-shots that will hopefully span all seven books and beyond (I lack the energy and inclination to rewrite entire books), mostly following cannon plot except everyone is LGBTQ+ because fuck JKR. And disabled because I'm disabled and we don't see enough representation either. Not all orientations, identities or disabilities will be revealed immediately, and pronouns will evolve over time. Tags will be added as new chapters are posted.
Title is from “Photograph” by the Heartless Bastards. Great band, and they (in the person of Erika Wennerstrom) have signed an “Artist Letter in Support of the Equality Act” supporting LGBTQ rights which does specifically mention trans rights. I HATE that I have to fact check people who talk about love, I really do. Because I believed The Author Who Must Not Be Named and look what happened. But this is where the bar is set—we can’t call transphobes heartless bastards because THE ACTUAL HEARTLESS BASTARDS are better than that.

Hunter/x are special- Bobby isn't. And he's very happy that way.
He had a rough time as a teen, takes medication to manage anxiety and minor psychosis symptoms, and generally prioritizes his girls above everything else in his life. There's pretty much nothing he won't do for them- he'd give them the clothes off his back if he had to.
Hopefully they won't mind his birthmark if that ever happened. It's not a pretty sight, but hey- at least it's just some harmless skin discoloration, right?

He did not even know when he started gaining consciousness.
But eventually, the image of Jimmy’s rotting corpse comes to the forefront of his mind a bit too often for his liking, and he comes to the startling realization that the dead Jimmy sprawled on the floor was not a figment of his imagination, but rather what he was actually seeing in real time.
Has it been 20 years?
It did not feel like it.
It feels like nothing at all. Everything is frozen.

He imagined himself closing his eyes and did not resist when he felt the life seep out of him.
