The way he ran and lied, and was still lying. King Rhoam was the one who insisted the truth be buried, but Link didn’t utter a word of protest. He may have come clean, but he had no intention of coming clean to all of Hyrule.
He felt he didn’t owe Hyrule anything.But the question remained, just how much did he owe Zelda?"

Summary
“Hey, we should stick together.” Karlach says, placing a hand on Shadowheart's shoulder. "Don't want to get even more separated out here. That means you, fangs.”
Astarion scoffs and flaps for a moment, then reluctantly goes to rejoin them, grumbling all the way. Karlach manages to ruffle his hair once before he pulls back, hissing dramatically like her hands still burn. His theatrical complaints about his precious hairstyle mingle with the girls' laughter, even as they move away together, up the stairs.
Turmeric can't remember hearing them laugh like that since they entered the shadow-cursed lands. Maybe it's her absence that encourages it.

An alternative arc to Act 2, where a self-doubting Tav, with history in the shadow-cursed lands, begins to consider what benefit she really offers to the team, and what greater benefit there may be if she was no longer part of it. Quite dark in places, but with some comedy elements, and a lot of whole team friendship that I feel like we didn't get to see enough of in game. Please Read The Tags!
