Kal-el, a freelance journalist specializing in xenobiology correspondence, is in love. A surly little unclassified mammalian at the shelter he volunteers at has stolen his core. He’s never had a pet before and this creature has a history of servere behavioral problems, but he can’t let the poor thing stay at the shelter forever without trying to save it. How hard could exotic pet ownership be.

Batman overhears Barry and Hal talking about a... "Hear me out cake" that they want to do, Batman doesn't know what a 'Hear me out cake' is but he's happy that the justice league is doing team activities together, he wasn't sure if everyone would like eachother and this was a big relief to him.
Batman soon asks Superman what a hear me out cake is.
Superman says it's a normal cake but you put pictures of people you are somewhat attracted to..
It's basically confessing an attraction to the strangest characters, people, or things. So the so-called 'hear me out' cake is basically putting characters you would so call 'Smash' on a cake.This will be fun....

Summary
In the early days of the Justice League the team are unsure if they can trust Batman without knowing his identity. A device borrowed from the Lanterns allow them to ease their doubts without invading his privacy.
The user will enter a non-corporeal state for seven days so they can follow their target, see and hear everything they do. When it ends they will forget everything they saw, but whatever opinion they form in that time will remain afterwards. If they see them being kind, they will emerge with a good opinion of them. If they see them being cruel, they will emerge with a poor opinion.
The last thing Hal expected was to come out of using the device with a crush.

Eventually Bruce woke and he blinked his eyes open. The entire room was pitch black; it must be really late. He waited for his eyes to adjust to the darkness. And waited.
And waited.
He wasn’t picking up any hint of light from his black out curtains, even on the darkest nights there was still a little bit of moonlight that made it past. Nor did he see the familiar soft glow from his clock.
He took a deep breath. He slowly exhaled.
He was perfectly calm.
He waved his hand in front of his face.
There was no flash of motion, not even an indistinct blur of a deeper shade of darkness.
He had been completely blinded by the spell.
He couldn’t help the small whine of terror that slipped out. He pressed his hand to his mouth attempting to get himself under control. He attempted to slip into his meditative breathing, he would control his panic.
He was Batman, he could control himself. He would be fine.

The justice league still knows very little about Batman. The most they know about his personal life is that agent A seems to be a mentor of some kind, he has a German Shepherd named Ace the bat-hound, and that his side kick Robin is his only child (that they still know nothing about as Batman keeps him at arms length from them). At least that's what they thought until a young child wearing a mask with a dog by his side walked into their meeting asking his dad (Batman) for help.
or Bruce was just trying to get through the meeting as painlessly as possible, unfortunately for him his youngest had other plans.
