      Okay so. Adding the first few tags purely because of the added Tumblr post. I dunno if the tags I'll add will fit the actual fic. But just that little tidbit is fucking hilarious - lol k just started reading and I didn't have to worry, tags fit lmao and adding crack

      Robert was cackling in the background and Lyanna was glaring at him as if he stole the prince from her. It was honestly devolving into a disaster and Ned was mentally counting from one to ten--trying to calm himself from killing anyone--as he gave a graciously stunning smile to the prince as he accepted the wreath. Lady Jeyne Royce would have been proud of how he was acting...All those lessons on how to be a fine lady of the court that he was made to attend were working.

      "Oh. c'mon, Ned," the heir of Storm's End whined. "If the prince is going to court you, shouldn't it be useful enough to protect you? I mean, a small lie would matter little if Prince Rhaegar himself wants you as his concubine."

      Ned pinched the bridge of his nose. "You're going to start a fucking scandal. That's what you did."

      Interesting twist tho, I mean, sure? I er, sure

      Ned knew it was wrong; murder and death were something they should never be nonchalant about. But after living for so long the way he was and his adopted family readily shedding blood and ending lives for him, he became accustomed to it. He grew used to knowing Lady Jeyne, his adoptive mother, would poison or arrange accidents for anyone hurting or saying anything bad towards him. He accepted that Robert would readily fight, torture, and murder anyone for him. Lastly, he realized that Lord Jon Arryn, his adoptive father, was capable of ordering someone to their deaths if need be. This ultimately led to Ned becoming *like this* -- being somewhat callous and indifferent about the fact that he may have signed Lyanna's incoming death sentence.

      "I was," Ned nonchalantly stated as he continued, "But that's not the point."

      "You died!" Robert shouted as he stomped his way back to the shorter man.

      "It hardly matters now." Ned crossed his arms. "I was dead but I'm now alive."

      "Ned!" The figure of a frantic silver-haired prince ran towards the man on the floor. Behind Rhaegar was Arthur Dayne and the man had a cold mask on his face. Those violet eyes of his darkened as what concealed anger he held escaped at the sight of Ned's battered figure.

      "Those fools," the Sword of the Morning snarled. "To hurt the Crown Prince's Consort."

      "I'm fine, guys," Ned addressed as Rhaegar pulled him into his embrace. His face scrunched as he suppressed making a sound at the rough handling he received.

      "Fine!? Robert told me you were nearly dead!" Rhaegar had Ned's face in his hands. The embroidery hoop that the Northman was using was then discarded on the floor.

      Watching the proceedings, Robert thought his cousin might as well hear what he and Ned were just discussing. "Ned just told me that Benjen found him dead and it was half a day later after being found in the tombs of Laenor and Lucerys Velaryon did he come back."

      "What???" The two newcomers chorused.
