我对Veilguard极其失望。在一言难尽的失望原因之中，Veilguard的lore表现水平和codex写作方向给我带来的失望夹杂着最多的滑稽色彩。
如果说前几作里铺垫好的北塞各国风貌初始设定、续作主干情节和矛盾走向、以及关键角色刻画延续性的彻底丧失是我锥心痛恨的主要来源，而Veilguard对北塞各国看似全覆盖实则打卡敷衍的刻画则令我发笑。故事聚焦在了北塞达斯，但对北塞达斯各国的政治、地理、民情、社会面貌等等方面的具体介绍却乏善可陈——就拿塔文特举例子吧。谁敢相信呢，主角都在塔文特皇国首都逛街了，（尤其是精灵主角）都喊得出for minrathous了，都能莫名其妙地钦定大执政官了，游戏给出的有关皇国安教会、皇国体制运作细节、皇国地理文化概况、皇国世情面貌之类的信息却依然无限接近于零；塔文特皇国安教会的体系是什么样的，有没有特色职位？皇国法环和皇国安教会之间的关系是怎样的，Laetan法师在理想情况下会如何升迁？法师的人口比例是多少，有没有成建制的法师作战部队？哈哈，竟然什么都没有！
Veilguard在对应领域的写作质量简直烂到了一个 我 上 我 也 行 的地步。因此，我将毫无愧怍地直接编新Lore，而对于Veilguard吃的那些书和用核弹暴力“填平”的那些坑，我也将毫无愧怍地直接扔了重写。Series

She’d been weeks gone from their little assassins’ nest by this time last year and though he’d somehow known she’d never return the moment he saw the scattered chess pieces… he’d still waited there the night of her birthday, with a book on wyverns as a gift and a canister of hot chocolate.
(He’d left both book and canister behind, never returning again to confirm their receipt — he’s too afraid to see these things covered in the dust of Rook’s indifference.)
