Arthur was 10 years old when he discovered that magic was just a tool, along with his father and knights he participated in an attack on Ealdor. King Uther kills everyone in the village, punishing them for hiding Balinor and upon learning about Hunith, the King tortures her to find out where her son with Balinor is, and when Will appears Uther kills them both thinking he is Merlin. While Arthur finds Merlin in the forest and discovers his magic, he does not hand him over and instead welcomes him and promises to free magic when he is King. Merlin changes his body into that of a wolf and time passes, for everyone, there is only Merlin, Prince Arthur's Wolf. But for Arthur there is his beloved wizard, for Merlin there is Arthur the prince of his life, they love each other and no one will stand in the way of their love, not even Uther.

Arthur and Merlin are forced to take shelter at a beautiful diverse inn together during a very bad and sudden snowstorm on the way back to Camelot from an expedition. As the days of them being confined together drag on, Arthur learns there is more to Merlin that meets the eye, and Merlin learns that Arthur isn’t a total arrogant selfish prince. But, Arthur starts to notice even the small things about Merlin that make his chest flush with heat; his smile, his pale skin, his perfect lips, his beautiful laugh, etc., causing uneasy and unwanted feelings to bubble to the surface of Arthur’s mind. It’s all up to Arthur to figure out how far he’s willing to go with his admitted feelings.

Father Arthur Pendragon walked down the decorated aisle of his church, grabbing at the holy texts left on the pews. Normally this would be the job of the altar boys, but alas, there weren't many of them anymore. Arthur could almost feel as the people of Somerset began drifting further and further from the word of God, apart from the forever loyal parishioners. Not that Arthur could blame them.
His thoughts are interrupted by a low voice with a thick Irish accent.
"It has been many years since I've stepped foot in a Church." The voice said, and as Arthur turned around, the books he held almost fell out of his grasp.
In front of him, stood the most beautiful man Arthur had ever laid eyes on.

Arthur hadn't meant to yell at Merlin like that, but he couldn't stop himself, his voice rising before he even realized it.
He thought Merlin wouldn't hold it against him so much, he yelled at him often and Merlin didn't seem too hurt by his words, so Arthur wasn't worried either. Tomorrow morning Merlin would come back to his chambers, bring him breakfast and everything would be okay again, that's how it always was when they had an argument and Arthur yelled at him, Merlin was never angry with him for too long, he couldn't be angry with him for too long. Merlin's heart ached when he was away from Arthur for too long, it just felt wrong to be away from Arthur for too long. -
