Summary
Trigger Warnings for pretty much every bad thing that can happen to a person.
This is a reincarnation style time loop series set in the universe of Far Cry 5, where a person from our modern day is trapped and trying to escape the universe of the game.
I wanted to add here that this series is going to examine very bad people. It will dissect their trauma and explore why they became the way they became. In doing so I want to be clear that I am not trying to sanitize the evil things the people in question have or will do. As often as evil can be banal, it can also be nurtured in a person - or implanted and left to fester by deep mistreatment.
The source material being used in this series is as follows:
1. The game Far Cry 5 including events and locations and models in game as a reference point for descriptions and geography.
2. The pre-order bonus The Book of Joseph which is a collection of scripture written by The Father detailing some of the lead-up to the Peggies arrival in Hope.
3. The novel Far Cry: Absolution by Urban Waite - a secondary prequal set JUST before Far Cry 5.

Callista had pulled a flask from the inside of her denim jacket and just before bringing it to her lips, a firm grip wrapped around her wrist. It startled her. Her wide eyes clashed with blue and an involuntary shiver wracked her body. The man before her was tall and burly. His ginger hair was slicked back on the top and shaved off the sides, military style. Burn scars covered portions of his face, except for the lower half, where a beard resided. He was wearing an army jacket, a beige shirt underneath, jeans, and boots. His jacket had a name patch on the right side: "J. Seed." He was wearing dog tags around his neck, alongside a rabbit's foot.
Without missing a beat, his opposite hand collected the flask and he pulled it back on his lips. Callista watched in fascination as his Adam's apple bobbed with every gulp. He released a sigh, pounded a fist against his chest, and nodded his head.
"Not bad." His low and husky voice made Callista's lips part.

John takes a deep breath. He always does it when he has something important to say but doesn't want them to hear. Usually he goes to Jacob first because Jacob listens .
John tells him everything . About the girl and what she can do. About what happened to him and Esther. About the freaky organization the girl and apparently the two deputies and the Sheriff are in. About the nukes and their location.
At first Jacob could only scoff, then as time goes on incredulity falls to anger and then quiet acceptance.
That-That really does sound like something Joe would do. This Joe. This intense Joe he doesn't recognize anymore.
But he is still family and Jacob will cling to the last scraps of things that hold him together.
He looks at Deborah's figure curled around Judith. She seems to like doing it right after their "sessions", licking the other dæmon to soothe her. Maybe she likes taking care of her toys.
