He hadn’t signed up for this. While technically (legally) not beyond his call of duty, this was ridiculous. He’s only been a deputy for two months, could still barely figure out all the buttons in the cruiser, not that he ever had a reason to use them. They were the Sheriff’s department in Hope County, where nothing was ever supposed to happen.
Rook is out of his depth and is painfully aware of hit. And now, of course, he's been tasked with saving an entire county. He has no clue how he's going to manage it, but he knows he has no other option.

Things do not go your way when shortly after arriving to Hope County, you and the rest of the deputies are pushed to arrest Joseph Seed by the US Marshall.
(This is the first fanfic I have ever written so please be harsh with criticism. The reader (you) has their very own backstory and family so if I need to change this to an oc fic let me know. Sometimes life lets you struggle- to prepare you for things to come. Rook knows this all too well- but she has to wonder when life is also going to back off.
In this one, Rook is prepared for the cult (unfortunately), and the fight that comes with it. Our other deputy is not, but he's optimistic at least. Hell will be raised. Explosions will be had. Plenty of violence-- But what is going on between the deputies and the heralds?!

John Seed grew up thinking having ADHD was a sin. That he was cursed and his family wasn't. So imagine his horror when the Deputy calls him out on it? No one is supposed to know. No one can know.
But Rook also has ADHD. And Joseph did say that the deputy would either be the Harbinger of Hell or the Savior to the Seed Family. So if Rook had it too, maybe it wasn't a horrible thing to have?
