"Aye aye, captain,” he responds with a mocking little salute. Tesla narrows their eyes, but ultimately spends no further time on it, simply side-stepping him to hand out keycards amongst the crew.
“So.” Rust holds up the keycard and wiggles it as if jingling keys. “Need a room, sunshine?”

“Lean down…?” Doc tilts his head and, really, the motion has no right to look quite so endearing on him. There’s no time to dwell on that thought, though, because time is hardly on their side, and Doc isn’t getting with the damn program.
So Tesla kicks him in the shin. Hard. When the pain causes him to let out a sharp little cry and curl inwards on himself, he leans downwards, and Tesla steps smoothly forwards, hand slipping around the back of his neck to keep Doc in place.
“Follow my lead,” they murmur, then kiss him.
-OR-
Rust is kidnapped by witches who are using a nightclub. Tesla and Doc are the perfect pair to go and rescue him, due to Doc's magical ability to disguise them as humans, and Tesla's mind.
Posing as a couple when they're both pining after each other complicates things, though.

Why had Doc bought zero sugar? He closed the fridge, quickly moving towards the full length mirror that Doc kept in his room. He stepped in front of it, carefully observing his body in every angle of the light. Lightning’s breath hitched.
Doc didn’t think he was getting fat, did he? He hadn’t bought zero sugar because he thought his protege was putting on too much weight and he was embarrassed for him?-or-
