Summary
For Tifa, beach had a specific meaning – and had done ever since her childhood in Nibelheim. This beach was like the corrupted version of it. In books, in magazines, on film and TV, a beach was a wide expanse of golden sand. The sea would be a crystalline shade of blue, green or a mix of the two. The sky would be cloudless. A shock to contrast that idealized version with the beach that bordered the lower city of Junon. The sand tended towards muddy in most places; in others it exhibited a rainbow burst of colour indicating heavy metal pollution. The sea was grey and choppy, waves slamming into the heavy red supports holding the Upper city aloft overhead. Most of the resulting artificial sky was dark red, likely spotted here and there with rust.
The grim sight of the beach and see at Junon; not the first visit Tifa had always anticipated.

She pressed into him a little more, his body shifting a minute amount before resisting. Her chin rested on his shoulder and she shifted so her cheek pressed against his. "Still mad?"

Summary
Six months of being alive again and the Planet did not seem to have any immediate plans to drag Aeris back to the Lifestream. Good. That worry caused any number of sleepless nights. Exhaustion might eventually force her eyes shut but the worry would wake her right back up mere moments later. It took a long while to shake the fear she might find herself back in that chorus of voices and green all over again. She had a second shot at life – more than temporary it seemed – and as a result she was going to make the most of it. So many plans, so many ideas. So much food to try. Places to see. People to meet and express amazement that she here and around them all over again.
Aeris is alive again and looking for a role in the new world.

Summary
An odd craft was on one of the landing platforms. Aeris tried to make sense of the vehicle as dock-workers began unloading. Another glimpse of the curiosity as she took the elevator up to her assigned accommodation where she dropped her bag on her bed and threw back her curtains. A vast expanse of sea stretched out beyond the bay, rendered near black in the darkness. Floating in the glare of floodlights was an airship.
The craft strained against the ropes tethering it to the landing platform. If she cut those lines, would the airship drift away like a leaf on the wind? What would it be like to fly in that craft? Different. It had to be different to the Gelnikas. Maybe not as fast, but freer, gentler; an open deck lay below the bulk of the craft. A perfect vantage point to see the world from as the airship flew above it. Freedom; it was right there in front of her.
Ifalna escaped Shinra but was unable to take her daughter with her. Years later, Aeris Gast now works as a lab technician for Hojo with no effective method of escape. While shipping samples to Junon she finds a new possibility; an airship.
