As the translator remarked, this is the BEST Jingsu fix-it fic. We have a cure that feels "deserved", we have Mei Changsu insisting that it's improper for him to stay in Jinling for a myriad of REAL reasons, we have Xiao Jingyan insisting Mei Changsu stay because he's a stubborn bull who has feelings. Everything happens with the same "vibe" of the original story with the societal values of ancient China. As someone bilingual, if you are able to read the Chinese version, you should - literary styles between Chinese and English will never translate very well due to fundamental structural differences between the two languages. Nevertheless, the translator did an IMPRESSIVE effort and I'm very appreciative. I would re-read this many times in the future.
