Summary
Leta Sangha is a McLaren racing engineer who spends most of her year traveling with the circus that is the Formula 1 paddock and the rest of her time caring for her ailing grandfather, a motorsport superfan who practically raised her. Like any good engineer, she compartmentalizes problems so she can solve them one by one. To add another human into the equation of her life—an unpredictable, emotional human—feels like too much, even on her best days.

Summary
Lando is struggling to adjust after the best off-season of his life, when he finally finished moving in with his boyfriend, Max, and they spent all their time together. Daniel notices his teammates behavior and reaches the conclusion that Lando is hiding a secret girlfriend, annoying Lando. Max is delighted to mess with his boyfriend and "help" Daniel track down the mystery girl. Daniel doesn't understand when to back off and pushes things too far, leaving Lando feeling hurt and embarrassed. “Would you wanna come to Spain this weekend?”
Lando blinked. “Spain?”
“Yeah, for the race,” Oscar clarified, pushing himself upright. “Barcelona. Come watch. From the garage.” Lando’s pen stilled between his fingers. He swivelled slightly in his chair, narrowing his eyes. “From the garage?”
“Yeah.” Oscar leaned forward, elbows on his knees, gaze steady. “You’d be right there. Close to all the action.” Lando’s mind tripped over itself. He’d never been to a race in person. He’d seen glimpses on TV — the roar, the chaos, the cameras everywhere. His stomach gave a nervous twist.
“Not sure I’m really… built for that,” he muttered, trying for lightness. “I’ll stick out like a bad brushstroke.” Oscar’s grin tugged wider. “No, you will look like a guy sitting in the garage watching his boyfriend race.”
The word landed heavy in the air. Boyfriend. It still curled warm in Lando’s chest, even five months in.

Oscar’s focus comes back full blast when he hears soft, but quick footsteps and then feels two tiny arms wrap around his leg.
“Mister!” Oscar looks down and sees a little toddler look up to him with big shiny eyes. “Mister, I lost mommy”.
The McLaren driver tries to shake his surprise. He crouches down to be more at eye level with the boy. “Where did you see her last?” he asks. The kid just shrugs. He looks close to tears.

At the Monaco GP, Oscar finds a kid walking around the paddock unsupervised. He decides to help the polite boy find his mom but gets way too attached in the process.
Lando is here to help, Oscar thinks. And is definitely not a distraction…

Oscar had never really put all that much thought into his status as a beta.
As a beta, his secondary sex didn't put anywhere near as much of an effect on his every day life in the way that being an alpha or omega would. He didn't experience heats or ruts, and well… his ability to scent was baseline. His own scent was mild and even, much less prone to souring. In turn, he wasn't as affected by the scents of others either. It meant he had a pretty easy time on the track, all things considered.

Oscar chokes on his drink. He splutters. He’s almost sure he’s drowning on his watered down coca-cola. He’s not one to picture his death often, but he most definitely never saw it being at the hands of a carbonated drink.
He coughs once more before choking out an answer, “What?!”
Lando leans back on his chair with a shit-eating grin, his eyes twinkling mischievously, “I said, before we met, did you ever think about fucking me?” He repeats it lightly; casually, like it wasn’t just the most outlandish, out of left field, and frankly invasive question Oscar had ever been asked.

(Inspired by the PR video where Lando says "Apart from me, who inspires you in your racing career" and Oscar replies with "Apart from Lando.." The fact that Lando knows about Oscar's fanboy era is driving me crazy)
