Dorian told him he needed to go fuck his narcissistic ass, which Adrian wasn’t even diagnosed with that disorder, mom was stonewalling him after he was trying to talk about dad.

Chris fishes around in his jeans pocket until he produces a Band-Aid, and slaps it into Adrian’s hand with a force that could bend his wrist back. “Go ahead and put it on.” Adrian isn’t super great at telling the difference between tones of voice or anything, but he thinks there’s something that’s different from the rest of Gut’s friends, too. He doesn’t have time to figure it out before the guy adds, voice picking up in volume for the other guys to hear: “And don’t be a pussy about your finger anymore, okay?”
Nodding silently, Adrian does what he’s told, because he’s really good at following directions. Chris turns back toward the group of guys, and doesn’t acknowledge him further.
But from that moment on, even in spite of all the stuff he can’t remember, this is one thing that Adrian never forgets.
