Summary
The world nearly ended a hundred years ago, when the Fire Nation originally tipped the world's balance. A century later, there are still people fighting, but hope is running out. At least, until one boy makes a stupid comment to his sister and his cousin, and they (rightfully) blow up at him, exposing a mystical, hidden iceberg... One with the Avatar inside. Oh, and his friend.
The resulting light was seen by a specific burned Prince, who's been adrift from his nation for four years while his sister was being groomed by their asshole of a father. At least the Prince has his wonderful, tea-loving Uncle. Who may or may not be part of an ancient, powerful hidden group with ties around the world. Shush, it's a secret.
Hijinks ensue as people try to learn, to impress the gravity of the situation on the Avatar, to cause chaos, to find love, to fall out of love, to slap jerks, steal, and more!

After Zuko, Ozai’s honorable son, assumed the throne, all efforts went to rebuilding what was destroyed by the war, and the nations have been slowly returning to their former balance for ten years.

Now under scrutiny by even the Avatar himself, Haru looked over at Toph helplessly. Shrugging, the other earthbender simply replied, “I’m guessing you’re looking at me for answers, and I don’t have any, sorry. I have no idea what they’re on.”
When a night of campfire storytelling at the Western Air Temple gets interrupted, a certain earthbender ends up being peer pressured into sharing his misadventures with a certain resistance leader. A story full of cheap thrills, semi-legal activities, lots of self-discovery, and a weird amount of unspoken tension.
Rated T for swearing, and also teenagers.

Zuko’s purpose in life had been drilled into his head since he could understand the words (and most likely even before that). He was the only son of a wrongfully banished prince of the once-mighty Fire Nation. He was the rightful heir to the throne. The Hundred Year War continues and the new Avatar, a waterbender named Katara, has been kept from the outside world for the past 16 years as she awaits to start her official training. It is only by accident that she is discovered by the Fire Nation's banished prince, but the encounter will embark them both - along with Katara's older brother, Sokka, and their new friends along the way - to a quest to restore balance, even though Katara still has a lot to learn before turning the Avatar.
