Summary
When Arthur and his knights are led into a trap and captured on Dyfed’s territory, Gwen is prompted to invoke the right of single combat. But, when Dyfed’s chosen champion is revealed to be a powerful sorceress, Merlin must take on the guise of Emrys to fight for Camelot. In doing so, the young warlock will discover just how much he is willing to sacrifice for his friends, and for the future he believes Arthur Pendragon is destined to create.

Summary
While returning from the druid shrine, Merlin, Arthur, and Elyan are attacked by a Catha priest and Merlin is forced to use his magic, revealing his secret to his king. He leaves Camelot alone the next day, but Arthur rides after him, determined to find him and work toward understanding. He may have said there was no place for magic in Camelot, but there is a place for Merlin. And perhaps one day soon for his magic as well.

Summary
When Morgana and Agravaine attempted to take Camelot by siege, Merlin could only see one path forward: reveal himself, and push back their army. Now, with Agravaine dead and his secrets revealed, his relationship with Arthur seems broken beyond repair, especially since Arthur has sent him away from Camelot to represent the Crown's interest outside of the city.

Uther seems to sense his anguish, because a bit of bewilderment creeps into his harsh expression.
“What is it about this boy?” There's a dangerous suspicion in the king's voice. “He makes my son risk his life and the lives of his knights for him. And the Great Dragon, for some reason, keeps him alive and uses him as a hostage. Why?" he walks towards the prince almost threateningly. “What else are you hiding from me, Arthur?” he demands, his eyes growing colder.

After Arthur rescues Merlin from The Great Dragon he has some explaining to do. To the king, and maybe to himself too. Sequel to "Saving the Dragonlord's son".

Summary

Merlin bows his head, awaiting the swing of Arthur's sword. The metal stings where it kisses his bare neck. A slight breeze as the sword is raised. He closes his eyes and waits for the end.
He startles at the thunk of the sword impaling the ground mere whispers from his kneeling body.
"I hereby banish you," comes Arthur's voice, only it is cold and foreign and the voice of a King, "do not return to Camelot. Ever."
Arthur banishes Merlin from Camelot. Gwaine goes with him and they carve out a little piece of the world, just for themselves.

Summary
