Summary
He places the empty bowl into the soapy water, followed by a plate empty of anything save cracker crumbs, and has just placed them in the drying rack when there’s a knock at the door. Darry freezes.
No one he knows would knock. No one. Not the gang, or any of the hoods from around town that crashed from time to time. Tim Shepard did, but he knocked while he was opening a door in a way Darry recognized came from sharing a too small house with too many siblings, it wasn’t so much a knock as it was an announcement of his presence. The only folks who ever actually knocked were people that didn’t belong at their house, who shouldn’t be here. Police. Social workers. People who brought nothing but bad news and empty platitudes, who made his life a living hell.

Paul didn’t know what exactly it was that made him jump Sodapop Curtis.
Maybe it was the haze of the alcohol from the night out with his buddies. Maybe it was the way Sodapop’s perfect face and glowing smile reminded him so viciously of Darrel. Maybe it was the fact that he’d been itching for a fight ever since about two weeks ago.

When light comes into contact with shadows, they fade gently. Similarly, offering care to others illuminates the deeper layers of our inner selves – parts that were once left in darkness, waiting for at least a thread of that light to shine upon them.
It took outside intervention to make the greasers and socs understand this.
Or; where the greasers and socs react to Ponyboy's life being shown in a movie theater.

Summary
Ponyboy Curtis disappeared for five years — a solid feat for someone who was once the face of the 1980s, guiding almost every major pop movement, always came to the forefront with an opinion on the world whether it be poverty or the handling of overseas politics, and was always occupying that space with his bandmate, lover, and mate, Dallas Winston.
Ponyboy's a punk, Dallas is the head of Thrushcross and for a few blazing, beautiful, glorious years, they make the most beautiful music possible.

Summary
The doctor grows worried. The longer he keeps the little blonde kid up on that table, the more his brow creases.
Eventually, he mumbles something unclear to Ponyboy and puts a set of headphones over his ears. It is silent, and the doctor keeps turning a dial and letting out a soft “mhm…” every time he presses a button and Ponyboy doesn’t react...He braces himself, heaving, and stares confusedly at the doctor.
Shoulders dropped, his suspicions are confirmed.
Ponyboy Curtis is going deaf.
----
Ponyboy's hearing has disappeared, and after Johnny's death, so has Dally. He misses his buddy, and he fears the worst as Dallas grows more and more distant. He's desperate to win his buddy back, even if he can't say it out loud.(my gift for @to-au-gift-trade on tumblr!)

Summary
“Well, I am just itching for a fight. What d’ya say, boys?” Bob’s eyes glinted with a violent glee. Everyone nodded in agreement. Part of Paul, the part he tried to bury deep was screaming no. This wasn’t just any greaser, this was Ponyboy. The kid he helped with his math homework and taught to play football. His best friend’s little brother. However, the larger, meaner part of him was at the helm today, and it was screaming yes. He knew exactly why. He had found just the right way to get to Darry. As much as he hated to admit it, Darry was a better man than he was. Insults and petty fights wouldn’t get to him, but going after his brothers sure would. Paul had read in the paper about what happened to the Curtis parents. Darry’s brothers were the only family he had left. When he had first heard, he felt terrible. Now, all he felt was adrenaline. He finally knew how to send his message.

Summary
"You’d better wise up, Pony... you get tough like me and you don’t get hurt."
It was one of the last things Dallas said to Ponyboy before he died. Two years later, one graveyard conversation does not turn out the way that Ponyboy expected it to, all because of some neighborhood kids. A slightly non-traditional take on Dallas/Ponyboy and a response to the last thing Dallas ever said to Ponyboy.

He didn’t get why it was so easy for him to cry now, before any of this he rarely had let anyone see him cry. The night Darry hit him was the first Johnny had ever see him cry so hard. But now it was like any minor incident sent him on the brink of a breakdown.

Or Johnny is going through recovery process, Dallas is serving time in reformatory detention, and Ponyboy is slowly getting worse. The aftermath of The Outsiders, only they live :D

“Sighing as he leaned against the wall, Randy glanced around the Drive In and spotted where he and Bob had spotted Cherry and Marcia sitting with some kids that the other had seen before, Bob grumbling to himself as he walked away.
What was the guy up too? Actually, no. Scratch that, Randy did not want to know.”
——-
In an effort to make Bob feel a little better, Randy decided to offer something that would definitely bring them closer together.
