Summary
~ Ponyboy is a girl and has a group of friends of her own. her own little gang, but she still has the other gang. she is not as innocent, and has other gangs wrapped around her finger. the whole bob/ church thing happened, but johnny didn't get burned as bad. he can still walk and everything he just has some burn scars. dally is also alive.
~ Pony is very much in love with Curly Shepard and they are dating. Johnny isn't as innocent as he seems either, and he may or may not have a girlfriend.
~ Pony's mom went to a school in England when she was a kid. the school found out she died and had kids. they send a letter to Pony inviting her to go to the school.
~ she does, and this is the story of her adventure in a new country, with new friends and family she made along the way.

When he finally felt stable enough to begin the walk back into the Eastside, he picked himself up off the ground. The walk was quiet, and he found his hands growing steadier by the minute. Until the street lamps flickered. Reaching into his pocket, he came to the crushing realization that he had dropped his knife while he was running.
The growl returned. This time Johnny swore it was right in his ear. He didn’t have the energy to run away. Not again. He breathed deeply and slowly turned around. The street lamp exploded, and the sidewalk was bathed in darkness.
He didn’t even have time to scream.

Summary
Ponyboy considered herself to be as regular as regular came. Perhaps the definition, even. She was unassuming. Not like her brother Soda, who could have been a movie star. Not even like Darry, who everyone at school loved even though he was a Grease. Pony got overlooked; and more often than not, she was fine with that. Darry probably was, too, if it meant she was staying out of trouble.
Though, trouble was kind of built into her. Not like she could help it. That was just what growing up around a bunch of greasy boys does to a person.

With his criminal record a mile long, and his reputation for every violent thing under the street lamps, Dallas was the worst human a person can think of.

He places the empty bowl into the soapy water, followed by a plate empty of anything save cracker crumbs, and has just placed them in the drying rack when there’s a knock at the door. Darry freezes.
No one he knows would knock. No one. Not the gang, or any of the hoods from around town that crashed from time to time. Tim Shepard did, but he knocked while he was opening a door in a way Darry recognized came from sharing a too small house with too many siblings, it wasn’t so much a knock as it was an announcement of his presence. The only folks who ever actually knocked were people that didn’t belong at their house, who shouldn’t be here. Police. Social workers. People who brought nothing but bad news and empty platitudes, who made his life a living hell.
