She was relatively slim, with smooth tan skin and silky, perfectly messy dyed blue hair that fluttered over her forehead in waves. She had on a pastel blue NASA sweater that made Peridot basically drool like the nerd she was, and the slim black jeans were not working in her favor either.
Peridot decided it would be much harder to focus on her studying while in the proximity of this mystery girl, so she gathered up her things and started walking.
...Right into the girl she had been staring at.

Despite being on the swim team and living in a dorm with her girlfriend, Lapis Lazuli is a lonely, depressed, flirty college junior recovering from PTSD. Her girlfriend is distant and manipulative, her demons haunt her daily, and her only glimmer of light is an optimistic middle schooler.
Peridot Diamond is an extremely introverted techie, with no clue of how to love, a horrible fear of abandonment, and a prosthetic left leg. The constant weight of what her mother expects of her after college, and her social anxiety is something she has learned to cope with.
To both: guilt is far from a virtue.

“Steven, you don’t have anything to apologize for,” said Garnet. “You haven’t done anything wrong. None of this is your fault.”
Steven burst into tears and Garnet quickly wrapped her arms around him, pulling him tightly against her.
“I thought- you- you and Amethyst- I thought that you were gonna- that you hated me now,” he stuttered through his tears, hugging himself.
“Steven, there is nothing that you could ever do that would make me stop loving you,” Garnet firmly stated.
“But- but you unfused and you- and Ruby and Sapphire- they- they and Amethyst ran - and Pearl- Pearl stayed, but she already- but Pearl already knew - but you and Amethyst-” he broke off, sniffling.
God, she thought, I handled this horribly. I should have seen the truth about Rose. At the very least I should’ve known how this would affect Steven! She took a deep breath. She couldn’t fall apart again, look at what that led to last time.
“Steven, I’m not mad at you and I definitely don't hate you. We’re just upset with Rose for not telling us. She always said that the truth was the most important thing, but she lied about her identity for over 5,000 years. I’m not mad at Pearl either, she couldn’t have told me if she tried,” Garnet explained. “I promise, Steven, I’m not mad at you at all.”

A Rose Survives Au based off some old comics of mine.
Rose creates a new gemstone for Steven so they can both exist (though she tried to make a rose quartz when steven is born it is revealed she created another pink diamond).
The Gems find out, and Rose is chased off Earth back to Homeworld. Pearl follows shortly after.
Follow Steven, Garnet, Amethyst and Mocha Pearl (a Pearl who fled to earth after hearing about how the Crystal gems successfully scared off a diamond and took one for their own) as they try and protect Earth from the diamonds and their former leader.
(I have no proofreader so excuse any errors, I do try and catch them lol)

"did you know Pearl has several pearls in her head, and they represent each level of her psyche?"Connie shook her head, dumbfounded. Steven sighed. "Me either. The first Pearl was super organized, which made sense, but she made a comment about how she put all the other pearls away because they were a mess, but not physically, mentally."
"Steven, that's kind of sick isn't it, that Pearl repressed the rest of herself like that?" Connie asked in slight disbelief.
Steven nodded. "Yeah, I know

"Pearl belonged to my mom...she was...her Pearl. I found out why Pearl never spoke about her much other than what a great leader she was, and why she silenced herself when asked a direct question about Pink Diamond. It's because before she became Rose Quartz permanently, she placed a seal on Pearl, never allowing her to ever speak of what happened again. They staged the whole thing, with Pearl shapeshifting and poofing Pink Diamond, but making it look like a shattering. When Pink Diamond reformed, it was as Rose Quartz, and the rebellion continued from there. The pearl in that memory gave me Pearl's phone, and apologized for everything. I texted pearl, letting her know I found it and I got sent back out."Apparently she had wanted to tell me for a long time, but was physically unable to because of the order my mom placed on her." Steven was clutching at his gem, the other hand fisting his hair. "How could my mom do that?" He questioned. "How could she do that too Pearl, how could she leave us behind with her mess?"

"Pearl...she's been quiet ever since. She still can't talk about it and she just stares at me when I enter the room. I don't know what I am supposed to do."I can't believe my mom owned her like she was a piece of property," he said suddenly in disgust. "It's so wrong. It's no wonder why she's been so loyal to her, she didn't have a choice. Even though mom changed, Pearl didn't. She was still the same, she was never free because of what my mom did to her..."

Before the Diamonds found ways to produce gems using machines or banning different gem fusions/romances OR forever banning organic ways of production, Gems would be created the same ways Humans are,
Hence why “Female” Gems have periods, which is why when Garnet gets hers, Having both Sapphire’s and Ruby’s emotions increased and both in horrible pain, they unfuse. And Ruby kinda destroys some of the half-ly build temple in fury….

"They're not being fair to you, you know." Lapis sounds casual- almost deceptively so. Pearl doesn't look up from the ocean waves lapping at her feet. She hasn't moved from her position on the beach for what feels like years, not even when Lapis first came down to see her, when she knew that Lapis knew. Steven must have told her, too."Why do you say that?" Pearl asks. Her throat feels tight. Lapis sits down next to her, neatly folding her legs beneath her. Her skirt bells out around her, reminding Pearl of her old-
No, that doesn't matter anymore. She doesn't wear frills and skirts and flounces anymore. They aren't suited for wartime. She isn't a decoration piece anymore. Peridot had called her a fancy pearl and she'd almost kicked the little green gem's teeth in.
"Blaming you," Lapis says simply. Pearl turns to look at her then. Her eyes are almost as blank and mysterious as they had been when her gem was still cracked.
"They- I deserve it," Pearl says, eyes burning. "They have a right to be angry. Rose kept something so important from them for thousands of years, and I-"
"Ruby and Sapphire know what it means for a pearl to be given a direct order from their diamond," Lapis interrupts. Now her voice is hard and thin and skates the edge of something Pearl can't quite identify. "You couldn't. Steven told me what she did." Lapis crosses her hands in front of her and Pearl feels cold.
"She thought it was for the best," Pearl whispers. "No one should ever know, it- the rebellion would have fallen to pieces if people knew."
"She could have told them after the war," Lapis says. "She could have released you. You can't even say it now, can you? Now that it's out in the open?"
"Rose-" Before Pearl can even think of saying another word, her hands slam against her mouth with almost punishing force. Her eyes fill with tears and Lapis stares at her with something that should be pity.
"She never let you go," Lapis says. "You never stopped being trapped."
"I didn't mind it- I-" Pearl stops. She doesn't know how she feels anymore. Her mouth hurts from the impact of her fingers, Pink Diamond's last order still reverberating down the centuries.
"I'm sorry," Lapis says quietly.

“Well,” Pearl struggled to speak, wondering how her roommates and former girlfriend would take the news. “I’m a mother now.”
There was dead silence on the other side, as the three women stared in shock at her. After another beat, Garnet pulled down her glasses in order to look Pearl in the eye, a blank expression on her face, before she spoke what they were all thinking.
