Summary
The power of truth is far greater than that of the deadliest sword. What if one man decided there had been enough bloodshed and risked his life to give the most dangerous solider alive one last chance? And what if he chose to accept it? One chance, one choice, that held the power to permanently alter the course of the Planet. This is the Alternate Universe of Irony of Fate.
This is my Final Fantasy VII Alternate Universe series. It's based on the original game only and doesn't take into account the later games or the movie, as it was started way back in 1998. What would have happened had someone simply told Sephiroth the truth? This series explores that question and the first story, Irony of Fate, loosely follows the main events in the game with some alterations, of course. But then my AU continues on afterwards in my other fics, 6 in total at the moment. All but Internal Warfare are complete.

Summary
What would have happened if someone told Sephiroth the truth about his origins? In my AU Final Fantasy VII tale, Vincent gives him this information, along with a second chance. Sephiroth joins Avalanche in their fight against Shin-ra Incorporated and Jenova, rediscovering his humanity in the process. (Originally written in 1998-2000, I freshly retouched it all in 2013! Now it's on Ao3 for the first time as I post all 63 chapters... 67 if I do what I want and post Interlude as the direct sequel... then move on to all the other the sequels, lol.)
