Summary
a desperate human is far more dangerous than any dragon
When given a choice between all he's ever known, and the wilderness beyond it, Hiccup chooses the latter. Now, five years later, he has abandoned humanity, mimicking the behaviours of his brother - Toothless - and the rest of their flock. Content to leave his entire childhood in the past, Hiccup is dragged back into fifteen years of unpleasant memories when his peers from Berk crash into his new home. He soon finds his allegiances split between the new life he has built for himself, and the one he abandoned.
Berk is starving, plagued by constant dragon raids and empty seas. The heir to the chiefdom, Astrid, leads the expedition to find the famed dragon master, and beg for his help in stopping the raids. Little does she know, behind the mask, is somebody she's been mourning for years.

“God of rage, war, and violence?” Kratos confirmed. Of course he knew he was the reason the group was named their names.
“Yes Kratos. I’m named that because you all have pissed me off.” Tommy let himself smile as he pointed towards the three and then back at him.
“What can you do to us?” Acanthis asked, Apollo glanced between the two.
“Well you see, when you mess with fire,” Tommy threw his hands down and fire flared to life below his palms, primed to be used. He saw their mouths open in either awe or shock, but it felt like a drug to Ares.
“You get burned.”

I’m assuming that my bookshop is no longer available for a chat where we won’t be overheard.”

He falls on the cold obsidian floor, his body landing like a thrown away ragdoll, sadly laying on the ground, abandoned. He can’t keep his eyes open, everything is blurry, the ringing in his ears won’t stop, and the pain won’t go away.
The last thing he sees before everything goes dark is Dream’s right eye, wide and filled with psychotic joy. The one thing visible behind Dream’s broken mask. He can imagine Dream smiling behind it.
So this is what it’s like to die, Tommy thinks before he can think no longer.

The mountain changed. Erosion thinned the layer of soil over stone, until it shone through in a few select spots.
The rain and wind hammered at the rock until it gave through- forming little pockmarks and craters across the landscape.
One of these holes led deeper than the others. Led to a cavern full of moss and glowing berries and a slumbering god.
And of course, Mumbo Jumbo, the clumsy guy he is, was the one that managed to find it.
