They need to learn how to deal with the changing dynamics of their team, family, and their ever-evolving powers as old threats get stronger, relationships are tested, and their wacky misadventures get wackier and more TV-13 instead of TV-Y7.
(A fan-centric passion project that takes place right where Season 2 ended and will finish before the ROTTMNT movie, which will also be rewritten as a continuation of this project. There are 34 episodes with 4 mini-sodes.)

But for now it's time to run, it's time to run!"Leo remembers telling his brothers one night, if he ever dies, he wants to go out with this song. It would be heroic, epic, and would fit his vibe well. Besides, he loved Woodkid, and this song has been one of his favourites for approximately 6 years already! His brothers groaned in unison, making jokes about it, cause why would he wanna go out in such a sappy way?
Later on though, Donnie looked at him, like... really really looked at him while Raph and Mikey fell asleep next to them. "Don't go away soon" the youngest whispered, patting Mikey's head in his sleep. "As cool as that song would be, we still need you yaknow.”
Leo promised he is not planning to go. They're young, just barely turned 16, they have a whole life ahead of them. When the time comes, when he is a lot older and less afraid, it would be epic to have a heroic falldown. But, he doesn't want to go yet.

After an insane encounter in the alley way near the 7-11 leaves Leo convinced that he's killed somebody, things begin to change in a way he doesn't expect them to.
Leo begins to struggle hiding these things with his brothers, and in return the returning spirit in his head seems to push him farther away from his true mentality. Leading him to become dependent on the one weapon that he swears he'd never use again.

This is not what he expected on the road to recovery after escaping the prison dimension. Lying in bed, yes. Hiding himself away in his bedroom, most definitely. But no, none of that is going to happen because Leo’s brothers had the collective idea to send him to a random farm in the middle of nowhere to recover without the hassle of New York. Now with city skylines traded for vegetable gardens, Leo has nothing to do but get used to the smell of soil. Oh well, at least the rabbit his age is good at telling jokes – even if they don’t make any sense most of the time.

The hinges had groaned, and the door caught for a moment before it began to move more easily.
But that’s where Leo’s luck had given out. The edge of the door had begun to swing forward faster than Leo had been prepared for. It had knocked into his bad leg, which had whited out his vision at the same time he’d felt himself falling forward. Automatically, he’d thrown his hand out to catch himself on the wall, but only found open space, he’d dropped his crutches automatically trying to find something, anything to grab onto to stop himself from falling, and had found the edge of the doorframe. He’d had just a moment to realize he was on the wrong side of the closet door when something heavy had knocked into his shell.
With his balance already precarious, and his fingers wet with sweat from all the walking he’d been doing, his tedious grip was wrenched free from the doorframe as he was shoved deeper into the closet before the door had shut, enclosing him in darkness.

Or Leo finds himself trapped with no way of contacting his brothers. But it's all good because he's technically still in the lair, right?

Finally, his gaze landed on Mikey — unable to make out any features as his silhouette dissolved into the darkness.
"Guys…" Leo said in a breaking voice, swallowing thick saliva. "I… I can’t see anything."
