Leo smirked, making eye contact as he chugged the rest of the mug down. Blue clenched his fist, squinting.
“They’ve noticed that I have nightmares. They’ve noticed that I can’t stomach anything slimy, squishy, or pink anymore. They’ve noticed that I’ve gotten quieter, joke less, argue less, and I take being the leader more serious than ever before. And…” Leo raised the empty mug. “They’ve noticed that it’s been five months since I’ve woken them up screaming in the middle of the night. Let them think I’m getting better, god knows they need to stop worrying about me so much.”

Summary
Over the past couple of months, humans had become aware of mutants and yokai. At first it had seemed like a catastrophe, but little by little, more and more of the interactions between yokai and Humans became positive. The humans had slowly started to accept them. Well, some of them had. The rest were still firmly against yokai-kind, but who needs them? Donnie, for one, had zero fucks to give. Whether they liked it or not, the president had made the decision.
Donnie watched attentively, tapping his fingers as the president’s pen danced across the paper, taking seemingly forever. The president was signing the bill that would change him and his family's lives.
This was the bill that would finally recognise mutants and yokai as American citizens.

“Because he didn’t fall in, Chihuahua.” Other-Raph bared his teeth and Donnie only smirked at the response.
“What the hell is that supposed to mean?” He sneered. Donnie leaned forward.
“It means you’re a tiny creature with an astronomical anger management problem-” Before another fight could break loose, the far more mature version of his twin stepped between them.
“That’s enough, you two.”
OR, this is my Rise Donnie and 2012 Raph best friend propaganda. Those two would commit so many crimes together and you can't convince me otherwise.

Mikey’s looking at him. His eyes are searching, scanning him up and down, like a watchdog. Donnie’s in the middle of getting to his feet to work, and he can’t possibly open up to him. It’s stupid. Irrational. Deplorable.
Donnie offers back a pathetic grin. “I’m fine.” The words are quick, seamless. Mikey smiles something bright at him, the answer giving no one anything to think about, nothing to consider. Mikey is busy, busy like Donnie is, and he can’t bring himself to throw another thing onto the youngest brother.
He feels his shell pounding. Flesh ticking like clockwork. There’s no pain, not yet, just brass bright growing stains in his flawless techwear. No one notices.
Good. He’s got a lot of work to do.

“Donnie!” The blue-clad turtle cried, his expression turning wide eyed and relief filled.
Something sent a pang through Donatello’s chest. Painful, and unnerving. This was one of his brothers. Which one? He felt ashamed to admit it, but he couldn’t distinguish it. His brain felt too fogged and scrambled to put together some coherent name to the face. But it was the face of one of his brothers, and that is all that he had to take into account right now.
The slider lowered his Odachi, setting his other hand out gently; A gesture indicating that the softshell should take it.
This was his chance. The escape he so desperately craved.
“Hurry up, Von Ryan! We don’t have all night.” Kendra shouted through the small speaker.
A sharp beep echoed through the space, causing Othello to suppress a yelp as he jumped practically five feet in the air.
No shock came after.
That was a warning.

TLDR; The Purple Dragons kidnapped Donatello. The siblings race to find their missing brother, but, even if Donnie's family is able to save him from the tech club's torture, will he really be the same as before?
