Fledglings should be cradled close and held away from the world, safe from the humans and other monsters who would dare to harm them. Fledglings should be warm with fresh blood from their Sire, teething like a newborn babe, and purring in delight while the venom works through their system peacefully. Summary
John MacTavish hasn't seen Simon Riley since the day Simon rushed him to a London trauma center... and then walked away. The absence made John's road to recovery all the more agonizing, but luckily, the rest of the 141 along with other friends and family filled the hole left by a ghost.
Now, three and a half years later, John finally has his life together. He works for the MOD (and the CIA... ahem) as a civilian demolitions consultant. He's got a house, a (mostly) clear head, and most importantly, a date with someone new to his best mate's wedding.
John's ecstatic to be standing up as Kyle's best man. Unfortunately, it also means standing in the same room as a certain Lieutenant. It's okay, though. For Kyle's sake, John can keep all the anger and hurt festering inside of him in check. All he has to do is avoid Simon for the next few hours, and they'll go their separate ways.
Too bad Simon has other plans that, unbeknownst to either of them, will change their lives forever.
For better or for worse.

The man seemed to take a deep breath before he picked up the glass he had been toying with and began to walk straight for König's table. Apparently he had been looking after all.
When he reached the table, König let his eyes trail over him. He was certainly appealing and even if he didn't initially plan on feeding tonight, this man may sway that. He reached a hand out in greeting, hoping to ease the stranger's nerves by making the first move.
"Call me König. What's your name?"

Fuck, this hadn't been a problem until Soap.
He'd been fighting for how long, shed how much enemy blood, enough to bathe in, and resisted for years and yet.. This man.
This man did something new to him. Stirred that craving that he hadn't felt this strongly in years. The craving for the wet rush of heat on his lips, sliding down his throat, slaking a primitive need.
"We can't because I don't want to hurt you, Johnny." His voice was soft and strained.

There's some static sounds and Soap frowns, "Ghost, how copy?" He tries again.
"Sergeant, what's your status?" Comes the reply through an unfamiliar voice.
"Who are you?" Soap almost snarls, adrenaline kicking in, "what did you do to—"
He gets rudely cut off, "You may call me Oni." The stranger— Oni, states easily, as if this was a daily occurrence to him, "The Lieutenant asked me to come to your aid."
"The Lieutenant?"
"Ghost."
Ghost is a cryptic man with a history shrouded in red tape and black ink, no one knows much about his past, all that's known about him is that he popped up 5 years ago already a mystery.
That is, until Graves betrays them and Soap has to fight his way through Las Almas in the company of a dog named Riley and a man calling himself Oni that tells him they're an old acquaintance of Ghost.
What that means exactly, Soap doesn't know, but he intends to find out.
All the while, Ghost and Alejandro currently held prisoner and in Graves' custody.
