This is a sex scene. Straight up just a sex scene. But it's really intimate and heady and full of emotion. Minutes, seconds before the first word of this fic, Arthur found out that Merlin had magic. They had been fighting and Merlin lost it and made the fire in the grate swell. The way it illuminated Merlin and made him look powerful and great, his eyes sparking, fiery--well, that did it for Arthur.

Summary
Merlin flees his hometown for the big city and crashes with Gwen, his friend from university. As he settles in, he meets Gwen's new girlfriend Morgana, gets on the wrong foot with Morgana's ass of a brother, and finally tries to become a functioning adult.
Only, the bad dreams he's been having are getting worse, and the voice he keeps hearing in his head is getting louder...More than that, it seems like his new roommate may not just be the depressed, rich pretty boy he first appears to be. That there is something that lies beneath the surface of the city and the fragile understanding Merlin has of himself, his world, and the people around him.

Everyone knows it’s a manservant’s duty to look after his master’s manhood. Everyone except Merlin that is. Which makes for a very awkward and embarrassing series of attempts, and an angry, sexually frustrated prince... Well, you know what they say, practice makes perfect!
“I can’t do it! I can’t work for that arrogant prat! He is impossible! You won’t believe what he just asked me to do!” He shook his head fiercely, his cheeks heating up again.
“What did he ask?” Gaius asked.
Merlin made an embarrassed squeaky groan. He could feel his face burning. “He asked me to…” He stopped pacing and took a deep breath. “Rub his sword!”
Gaius lifted one eyebrow, it arched perfectly over his right eye. “Yes, you have to look after his weapons-”
“No, Gaius, not that sword, not the one he fights with…” Merlin put his hands in his hair, tugging it in frustration. “His… morning… glory…” He gestured at his own crotch.
“Oh!” Gaius waved a hand in understanding. “Yes. Of course he did.”
“What do you mean, of course he did?” Merlin’s voice sounded a little shrill now.

In dying, he puts a terrible curse upon the prince: to live forever, and never to forget.
A millennium and a half has passed. Arthur is being slowly torn apart from the inside-out, memories of the past an ever-growing weight in his chest.
