In their absence from the capital much has changed. Aegon II is still unmated, due to being the only living Omega, and the first to be born after the fall of old Valyria. Omegas are ancient Targaryen Treasures. More proof that Targaryen’s are more than just mere men and closer to gods. Even back in Old Valyria omegas were rare and few in between, believed to be blessed, magic, and more deeply bonded to dragons.
There is many lore that support such beliefs as well. They would be given to the mightiest Targaryen men, their children believed to hold in their hands' greatness. Most of the famous Kings and Knights were born from an omegan womb. Deemed more demanded of than even dragons, omegas were forbidden from weddings outside the Targaryen line.

She was sure it was obvious she had ulterior motives. After all, she’s wanted to figure out what the hell happened to Seong Gi-hun for years now. She’s angry, confused, heartbroken, but now that she’s older, a part of her just wants to understand. His disappearance seemed less like abandonment and more, worryingly, unintentional. While a part of her still resents him, that doesn’t mean her father deserved to die from loan sharks.

He's struggling to deal with the aftermath of coming out to his unaccepting father, the strain in his relationships since leaving his ex, and the slightly deranged neighbor who claims to know him from thousands of years ago. Well, that last part is sort of a new addition, one that he doesn't really mind all that much. It's kind of entertaining.
(OR: Arthur returns but doesn't remember anything about Camelot or the Warlock who has been waiting hundreds of years for him. Merlin takes the appropriate amount of revenge for that.)

Upon recieving a collection of books to help in the war, Dumbledore gathered those he could trust together in order to read them. Too bad neither he, nor the Goddess who sent those books, expected another Entity to take interest in her plan, and throw in a little “help” of their own...
There was some grumbling within the crowd, but everyone took their seats as Dumbledore made to pick up the first book.
Unfortunately, it seemed the surprises weren’t over.
A bright flash, a loud popping noise, and an object crashing onto the top of the table all happened within the span of a second.
The following second, most of the adults were on their feet, wands pointed at the shape currently laying in the middle of the table, ready for whatever it was that had suddenly appeared there without warning.
On the third second, the object let out a groan, revealing it was alive, before it moved, and revealed it was a person as they raised their head.
The fourth second had the person freezing as they saw their current situation, glancing around with wide eyes, before raising a single hand towards Dumbledore, who he was looking at, and waving slightly.
“Uh… Hi?”

Hermione quickly realizes that they are not the most impressed, as she sees Professor Lupin turn paler than snow. Remus believes he is being haunted by ghosts, first by seeing Lily's eyes on Harry during the Train, and now by seeing Sirius Black's eyes on Severus Snape's son.
