This is somehow my go to comfort fic, and I am not at all in the DBZ fandom, and only barely in the DBZ-abridged one. But not only is it well written with a distinct and fitting character voice, it also leaves room for other characters to breathe and very clearly have their own lives separate form Vegeta's journey. I've read this almost 20 times by now, and expect that number to go up. :)

***SPOILERS***
(In the last chapter, Jack almost asks what I think is going to be an inquiry about why they aren't planning how to get them to meet the Air Nomad leadership, and thoughts about reactions to that discovery haunt me, as well as the subtle implications that Avatar's Great Spirits were escaped experimental subjects, which sounds absolutely Earth shattering.
Also, I really really want to see SG 1, especially Daniel find out Zuko is the Fire Lord)

Summary
On paper, the Hero Commission's plan to investigate Midoriya Izuku under the guise of a training course for combating mental quirks is solid; foolproof, even. If Midoriya turns out to be innocent, they can pass everything off as part of the training exercise, assuming he remembered any of it. Otherwise, they could beg forgiveness after the traitor was securely imprisoned in Tartarus.
The paper plan failed to take into account the feral ghosts living in Midoriya Izuku's head, or his equally feral living friends.
Time to bring on the chaos.
