It’s been three years.
Three years since Tommy saw his brother. Three years since he heard his laugh, saw his smile, or even got to talk to him.
Tommy knows that by now, Wilbur would’ve aged out of the system. His eighteenth birthday would’ve been four months ago. Tommy had wondered that day, how he was doing somewhere out there, undoubtedly alone.
The social workers said that Tommy could manifest any day now. Most people receive their hybrid traits before they’re sixteen and Tommy’s birthday was only one month away.
It terrified him, the thought of ending up like Wilbur. Becoming something terrifying, someone that nobody could ever trust, somebody that society said nobody should ever love.

The angry mer pup stuck in the infirmary that wouldn’t eat. It’s all Techno seemed to hear about these days, the facility and its human inhabitants seemingly growing more vexed for every day that passed without the pup eating.
Techno didn’t understand the fuss. If the pup wouldn’t eat, and wouldn't bond to any of the adult mers housed in the facility, it would die. That's just nature.
“One sardine, Techno, that’s all I ask.” Philza begged.
Damn his Pod for taking the dying pup as a challenge.

Or, Techno, Wilbur, and Tommy are basically chaotic forces of nature, destined from birth to end the world and bring destruction. Most who hear of the tale of them are trying their best to track them down, and to end the monsters while they’re still young, still just children.
Phil has a different plan.
(In which Phil raises the minecraft equivalents of the anti-christ with love and support, so much so to the point where the world ending is really just a funny thought, and Phil has three kids who casually have powers that are bit more extreme than anything else in the world)

Summary
Tommy has always felt pulled towards witchcraft. The warm tingling in his hands whenever he got into contact with anything even remotely magic, his constant urge to collect trinkets and clutter and his wild dreams were just examples for that. You could say he was born for it. But witchcraft is frowned upon and the only people who were allowed to tend to it properly were the witches of the Academy.
That doesn't stop Tommy from dipping his toes into the matter, in the most chaotic and dangerous ways possible.
Or: Tommy's shitty altar and feral behaviour catch some unwanted attention of the rest of the SBI.

Summary
The Lazarus Pit always takes something from its victims. Usually, it's sanity, memories, emotional regulation, or a combination of the three. It doesn't often take a person's humanity and warp their body beyond recognition.
Seems like Jason Todd is the (un)lucky winner of such an opportunity! When the teenager wakes to a second chance at life, he is forced to live in the body of a monster. Yay!
To survive, he must uncover the limits and powers his new form holds, all while trying to avoid unwanted attention. When he returns home, things only get more difficult. His family actively hunts him, people are terrified by his very presence, and rogues try to catch him for their own uses.People fear what they don't understand. Villains hate what they can't control. Vigilantes detain what they think is dangerous.
There is no place for inhuman monsters in Gotham, but surviving by yourself is lonely. Maybe taking Batman's new little bird under his wing will help somehow?
OR
The one where Jason gets turned into an animalistic cryptid and has to survive Gotham being...well Gotham. Oh, Tim's there too. He's sad, but he thinks that having a cryptid best friend would be pretty cool.

Suddenly without warning, Tim was practically dropped in a low dip, nearly hitting the ground before Red Hood loosely caught him. Tim grimaced when he felt the man lean closer to his ear.
Batman leaned over Jason Todd’s body, silent tears trailing down his cheeks as he cradled his son’s lifeless, battered and broken body in his arms. The boy's legs were bent at an unnatural angle and his arms spread like a dead bird, wings finally clipped by the mad clown.
“I know you’re Robin”
It wasn’t the confirmation that made Tim’s heart drop, it was the words that came next that nearly made him grab the man’s throat in a fury. “Two of my men have you’re good ol’ daddy hostage upstairs”, the Red Hood hissed, “And if you don’t follow my lead I’ll tell them to cut off his limbs, starting with the fingers”.

Bruce paused.

He couldn’t be older than 10, eyes sharp and cold, moving with the grace of a seasoned assassin. The child assassin moved into a defensive stance, his weight perfectly distributed, bo staff snapping out. He was calm, there was no tension, no panic at facing off three men way older and heavier than him.

A long silence ensued, until with a resigned sigh Techno answered.
"It's my brother."

“Because he isn’t a good man Tim. Bruce Wayne…Batman….whoever, is not a good person. He has always been that way. And if you go to him now and try to be his Robin, he will hurt you constantly. He will punish you for not being Jason Todd and he will abuse you. And it will go on for years.”
Tim stared up at his older self as if he had grown two heads. “What? No, he wouldn’t! He’s Batman and even if he’s a little crazy now, Batman doesn’t hurt kids!”
His older self looked at him sadly. “That’s a lie Tim,” he said quietly. “I’ve got the scars to prove it. He will hurt you and he will allow others to hurt you as well.”
OR, the night before little Tim Drake goes to Batman to convince him to take him on as Robin, he gets a visit from an older version of himself who tries to convince him to go a different route in life, one that just might make him happier than being Robin ever would.

Techno slammed his fists against the transparent wall of his prison, trying his best to break it down. His captors backed up, whistling anxiously to each other.
He gave the barrier another loud crack, delightedly watching as they scrambled away in abject terror.
Nodding in satisfaction, he turned around to meet the eyes of two other prisoners that had been thrown into his cell.
He froze.
Right.
There were now aliens in his cell.
And he probably just scared the hell out of them.
Or: Humans are a dangerous race feared by all on an intergalactic scale. Techno, a human ex-soldier that was abducted by aliens 18 months ago, is biding his time in captivity.
This changes when two young aliens are sent into his cell to die.

Summary
The Antarctic Empire is one of the many countries suffering from tyranny. Emperor Philza rules with an iron fist, the wildfires of rebellion snuffed out before they can begin and its leaders are publicly executed.
Needless to say, many have tried and failed to rid their country of the Royal Family. Techno’s mentor was one of them, but Techno didn’t intend to let his dream die. He started his own Resistance to counter but sorely miscalculated how much power and influence Emperor Philza really had.
In an effort to save their own hide, Techno is forcefully given up by his own members and his once proud Resistance crumbles.
However when Emperor Philza sees Techno for the first time and is baffled by how young he is, Techno is not executed. He is not thrown in their most grueling prison to rot, but instead, kept within his castle. And slowly, Techno realizes that they have a very different role in mind for him, though he can’t fathom why.
(Or, Former Resistance Leader Techno turns into the very thing he hates: Pampered Royalty.)
