When Henry’s eyes slowly started to blink open, his vision was hazy and his surroundings were entirely unfamiliar. He felt lightheaded and his neck was sore. Rolling his head side-to-side trying to shake himself back into his body, he groaned at the now severe pinch he felt in the side of his neck.
His groan must have alerted someone to his wakefulness, as a figure suddenly appeared and kneeled before the chair he was seated in. Er, wait. The chair he was tied to? Henry struggled against the ropes holding back his wrists and immediately started to panic.
“What the hell is going on? Where am I?” He asked as his eyes darted around to find he was in an empty basement.

Merlin was facing Arthur. Arthur was staring at him, horror spreading across his face like a wine stain.
Merlin’s eyes. Arthur had seen his eyes.
A reimagination of Merlin’s time in the Crystal Cave getting his magic back before the battle of Camlann. Because there’s no way that Arthur would be able to keep his nose out of Merlin’s business long enough to let him ride off into the woods alone with Gwaine right before a big ass battle.
