“Oh, Viktor,” Jayce murmured, mouth close against his neck. “You’re okay. You’re okay.”
“Jayce. What happened? What did you do to me?”
Jayce let go of his body, and took both of Viktor’s hands in his. “It’s… it’s a long story. Soon, I’ll explain it all, I promise. I discovered a spell to neutralize the hexcore, and could wield it through the hammer.”
Viktor hesitated. “Neutralize the hexcore? What does that mean?”
For better or for worse, Viktor was the hexcore now. The device had been dangerous on its own, far more than Viktor had first realized, but he had uncovered its true potential now they were fused together, allowing Viktor to wield all its potential. The hexcore’s magic was what allowed him to heal and evolve all those who came for his aid.
“I promised I’d destroy it, remember?”

Summary
He sighs as the spray hits his skin, pained muscles relaxing. The water is lukewarm and the pressure is abysmal, but it's a relief to wash the sweat and sickness off his body. He leans forwards and lets it all run off him, swirling down the drain to be forgotten. Whatever is wrong with him, he hopes it passes soon. Just because he's gotten used to feeling like shit doesn't mean he likes it.
Hopefully he's just caught a really suborn bug. Flu, maybe? But he's not been feverish. Mostly nauseous and sore. It's lasted too long to be food poisoning, although he won't be surprised if his awful diet of infected lizards has come to bite him in the ass.
Another possibility stirs in the back of his mind and the moment Jayce processes it, a thick, heavy dread drops deep into his gut like he's falling into the ravine all over again.
Could he be pregnant?

Summary
Viktor and Jayce have been living in their cottage by one of Zaun's streams for two years now, after the Arcane spit them out in a universe similar to but slightly different from their own. Building body augmentations in their workshop and subtly helping to further Zaun's budding revolution, they've found a comfortable rhythm. Viktor may be an 8 foot tall magical cyborg, and Jayce's mental health might not be ideal, but they're making it work, rekindling their relationship to the best of their ability. Things are going so well, in fact, that Jayce decides it's time to pop a question that's been eating at him for a while now:

Sevika, a few months after taking over the criminal syndicate after Silco's murder, faces her biggest test yet. When one of her own is savagely turned to shreds, Sevika sets off to prove her strength to the rest of Zaun's criminal underworld as she begins to battle the realization that Silco may have trusted her less than she initially thought.
All the while, a beast prowls, haunted by memories that aren't his own.

There friendship felt so short-lived when he was banned from going to the river where they met. But even after years of studying magic and the Arcane, Jayce would never forget the voice of the alpha he met. But it's a lot harder to bond with him once they're both older and Viktor is so focused on Jayce's findings instead of Jayce's kind of obvious crush on him.

Leaning in, he brushed his lips against Viktor’s ear, voice dripping with goad as he fired his shot. “I could handle two of you at the same time and still come out fine, baby.”
