When the Daily Planet heard word of a new vigilante in Crime Alley that supposedly had no affiliation with Batman, Perry White thought it to be a nice short story—a quick in and out. After all, while the people of Metropolis had Superman, everyone knew of Batman, and a vigilante not working with him seemed interesting.
At least, that’s what Perry told his college intern. And her mentor Clark Kent when he raised concerns.
No one told her that the vigilante was intimidatingly attractive. Or that Crime Alley was the worse place in Gotham City. Or that her mentor would ask a friend to keep tabs on her. Or that the detective she’s staying with hates Batman despite working with him frequently. Or that the detectives neighbor was a really cute guy.

Me and Jason grew up together, helping each through thick and thin, staying in contact even when he had been taken in by the billionaire Bruce Wayne. He trusted me so much that he even told me who he was - the boy wonder.
But Jason Todd died terribly and I was left to pick up the pieces, to put together the broken pieces of my heart after my only family had been cruelly taken from me. I wanted to avoid the Wayne's altogether but Bruce was in need of a Batgirl and I wanted ensure no one ever got hurt like Jason had again. And maybe it helped that Dick Grayson's charming blue eyes had stolen my heart.
Just as I think I can finally mend the shattered remnants of my heart, the elusive and dangerous Red Hood makes his appearance - reminding us all of the things we've done and lost. Reminding me of the boy wonder who was mercilessly taken.
