    Splinter’s waking is sudden. It is dark, very much so, so for a moment he just lies there in confusion, trying to pinpoint what woke him up. Then, there’s another tug at his sleeve, and he catches a whiff of what he is rapidly learning to recognize as Raphael’s I-have-bad-news stink, and he’s sitting up immediately.
    “Mikey threw up,” Raphael whispers. Splinter just sighs.
