The Fire Nation's Royal Family was blessed, they had been for centuries. They had the sight. Individual members of the royal family could see into the past or into the future of those they touched. If the gift was powerful enough their eyes would almost glow.
And then Zuko was born. With glowing eyes.
Ozai is ecstatic- until he realizes that Zuko can't see into the future. When he touches people he sees their pasts.
It is usually very hard to hate someone who is entirely human to you. It is hard to hate someone when you understand them as well as you understand yourself.
And Aang is very, very human.

It's not how he'd expected happiness to feel like.
Sokka failed his friends, Aang might be dead, and he was on his way to the Fire Nation in an exclusive prison brig. From what he'd heard from Traitorous Asshole Zuko prison life was not fun. Well, shit.

The final part of Zuko's redemption back at home sweet home with best dad™ and Azula trying to socialize him back to FN standards. Good old trope, of FN people loving half redeemed Zuko, who is a confused mess all the time.

Summary

For almost a century, the Fire Nation has set the world ablaze with its conquest to become a worldwide superpower and stay at the top. They had succeeded with the Air Nomads, they were halfway there with the Water Tribes, and the Earth Kingdom’s shadow grew darker each day.
One day, Fire Nation soldiers hijacked a ship of refugees bound for the Earth Kingdom, arresting and killing those they found on board. But they couldn’t find Katara.
Somehow, she ended up on Crescent Island. Once a peaceful, volcanic Fire Nation island with a holy temple dedicated to the Avatar, it had been transformed over the years into a military camp with small villages mostly inhabited by soldiers, guards that worked at the newly established prison, and their respective families. It had become one of the most well-guarded places in the Fire Nation.
But by some stroke of luck, she finds a soldier with fascinating lineage and maybe–just maybe–the power to turn everything around.

Summary
Sokka's instincts told him Jet was untrustworthy long before he saw the teen do anything to prove it.
Every moment of mistrust was vindicated when he was introduced to the Freedom Fighter's 'training dummy': a scarred teenaged firebender who they kept trapped in cave.
Sokka has to decide between his personal morals and the ingrained reaction to treat every Fire National as an enemy to decide what to do with this information.
His decision seems inconsequential at the time, but it changes everything.
*A retelling of the series where an even more traumatized Zuko joins the GAang in book 1*

What if Sokka took up a power that he did not understand? What would it cost? And what would his family do to save him?
What if Azula had been shown another way? If someone had helped her, could she find her own redemption?
Underlying theme: The dereliction of duty and the consequences thereof, and that if you hold to your convictions and are resolved in your duty you will find salvation.
This takes place in the universe in which Aang did not use Sokka's jerky as fire stater in episode three, and the butterfly effect is strong indeed.
