Tim keeps his head down and just slowly eats his food as he is actively fighting the urge to fall asleep. He cannot focus on what his family is talking about around him but he decides to not concern them and nod along.
He is starting to fall asleep now as he has food in his mouth mid chew. But he can’t fall asleep because that would seem rude.
He can’t be rude.
His parents tried to raise him better than that.
Tim's face feels like it’s burning up. He hears a loud buzzing sound ringing through his ears.
Tim stays in his own mind for a while feeling stuck.

OR: When Ilya has an away game in Montreal, he often stays with Shane at his apartment instead of the team hotel. But when Centaurs rookie Luca Haas gets a concussion during the game and has to be monitored overnight, Ilya makes the call to bring Luca with him.
Takes place approximately two months after Part 1. It's Luca's first season as a Centaur and Shane's last season as a Voyageur. Shane and Ilya's relationship is still private.

Partly because Ilya knows when to pick and choose his battles, and any battle relating to a Shane routine is lost before it starts – but mainly because the little sleepy snuffling sounds that he insists he doesn’t make because he’s not sleeping, he’s meditating, so shut the fuck up, are really fucking cute.
But sometimes, Ilya wants – needs – his husband’s undivided attention in their last few moments of peace before another loud, hectic, and exhausting day full of other people stealing it.
Or maybe annoying Shane just enough to get him to slam the door a little bit too hard on his way out of the car, to give Ilya one quick dose of his adorable angry kitten face, is Ilya’s own form of morning meditation.

Right as Buck turned to look out the window some more, Eddie’s head finally swayed his way. He felt himself turn completely frozen still the second his head touched his shoulder.
Carefully, he rolled his eyes to see the top of Eddie’s hair, but within a second, Eddie was already trying to resistively lift his head back up; it was torture to watch. His head appeared to be the weight of a bowling ball for him to move.
Before he could get up, Buck, unable to resist himself, pressed Eddie’s head gently back onto his shoulder.
“You can go to sleep”, he whispered softly.
Eddie comes to work sick, and Buck definitely does not spend their entire shift worrying about him. Or goes to his place at night to check up on how he is doing.
