Summary

"That seems to be the case, yes", Michael says matter-of-factly. "That's never happened before, but then again, no human has ever died in a different solar system. Our afterlife department has no control over that."
"So let me get this straight." Colt takes a moment because he genuinely can't wrap his head around this. "You're telling me my brother got forced on a suicide mission, saved two entire forking planets, and as a Thank You he is excluded from heaven because he wasn't in the right solar system when he died?!"

What the title says. About 11 years ago (from my perspective; relativity is weird) I was launched into space onboard the Hail Mary to figure out a solution to the Astrophage problem. Now I live on an alien planet I call Erid, in the 40-Eridani system. Yes, I’m actually Ryland Grace. Ask me anything.

Ryland’s eyebrows shot up when he noticed his twin’s puzzled expression.
“Yes, Colt, do you have a question?”
Confusion was evident in Colt’s voice, “Yeah, why is the third bullet point under my name ‘annoying as Hell’ followed by two arrows to either Hermes or Hades?”
“I think the answer is fairly self-explanatory.”
Colt rolled his eyes, “I’m really just starting to doubt how scientific your analysis is.”
Ryland’s face went sour, his arms crossing in defense, “Court?”
“I have to agree, the connection to Hell seems circumstantial at best,” Court said.
The lights overheard flickered, plunging the speakeasy into darkness for just a couple seconds before returning to their full brightness.

“Nope–no you have to keep the pressure on that, Colt–” Jody grabbed his hand, guided it back upward, glancing over his shoulder to see what he was looking at.
There wasn’t anything of note behind him, just the pavement and a laughing couple stumbling their way around the corner.
Was he concussed?
“I’m not Colt,” Colt said, interrupting Jody’s thoughts. He cocked his head to the side, frowned, tried to lower his hand for the third time like he’d already forgotten what he was supposed to be doing. “I’m trying–I need to find Colt. M’not him.”
Oh, yeah, he was definitely fucking concussed.
(Ryland is concussed, Colt is framed for murder and concussed, and Jody is definitively lost in all the sauce because someone forgot to tell her that Colt has a twin brother.)
