Summary
Sirius knew you weren’t supposed to wake someone up when they were in a deep sleep, but he felt compelled to do something, anything. Cautiously, he slipped out of his four poster and tip-toed to Remus. Across his collarbone, where his shirt slipped down a bit, Sirius spotted a puckered scar. He never saw that one before, and it looked almost as if it happened recently, and it was startlingly long.
His hand ached to reach out and touch it, to see if he wasn’t hallucinating. He had seen Remus shirtless a number of times, and he never had a scar like that before.
It’s September 1976: Remus’ sixth year is in full swing with James pining over Lily, NEWTS preparation, and his very not-so-secret infatuation with Sirius—not to mention the looming threat of the Dark Lord and the oncoming Wizarding War. It is also the same month Remus is bit for the first time.

Sirius made a face. “What a stellar point, thank you very much, Pete.”
“Just a suggestion,” Peter answered along with a shrug.
“Bollocks, of course he likes you,” James said. “He kept making eyes at you at ‘Broomsticks yesterday.”
“He was?”
“Lily told me he likes your eyes, too,” James confessed, nearly smirking. “He thinks they’re ‘dazzling.’”
Sirius halted. “Dazzling?”
James met Peter’s eye before they both burst out in raucous laughter.
Sirius rolled his apparently not truly dazzling eyes. “Bugger off.”
Or, two Gryffindors fall in love with two Ravenclaws and the rest is history. Also, it’s sixth year and there’s a furry little secret someone is hiding.

Wormtail’s soft squeak interrupted them from a far corner of the room. He was spinning frantically in a circle beneath a foot-and-a-half tall goblet, gleaming gold and accented with small emeralds. It was beautiful, but also very Slytherin.
“Well, that’s just about one of the worst things I’ve ever seen. After walking in on Snivellous changing in the bathroom, of course,” Sirius said, making another face. “Who changes fully nude in a public bathroom like that? No stall or anything. Full backside.”
“Enough about his pale backside,” Remus said, shuffling over to the goblet. He picked it up, swaying a bit due to the weight. Solid gold indeed.
“I never said it was pale, but it definitely was almost white. Clever, you.”
James made a fake gagging sound. “I’ll cast the spell and get this over with so you can finally shut up about his arse. Somehow I prefer you waxing poetry about Moony’s arse instead.”
“Now that’s a good arse,” Sirius said, smiling. Remus clicked his tongue in distaste.
Or, the Marauders begin their sixth year at Hogwarts with a prank and aren’t as sneaky as they think they are.
