Jayce's eyes narrowed as the medic's cheerful tone clashed with her ominous words. "Special arrangements for your journey, Jayce," she said, her voice dripping with sugar. "We want to ensure your comfort during the trip." He sat down, his heart racing, as she continued, "We usually put you into cryosleep for long travels, but... you have unique history."
"Unique history?" Jayce echoed, his mind racing with questions. The medic's tone was too light, too detached, and he searched her face for answers.
"I suspect that process could be rather jarring for you. So, we’ll be administering general anesthesia in advance to avoid complications." She smiles, her words barely registering before a needle pricked his arm.
The room went dark, and Jayce's thoughts were cut short. He tried to speak, to express his doubts, but his voice was silenced by the searing pain and the creeping numbness.
“General anesthesia" my ass.
