Jaskier’s new song is a hit, and Geralt, for the life of him, just cannot understand it.
It is, as far as he can tell, about a rooster the singer is pining to pet, which “rouses him every morning” and “is such a beauty to behold”. Jaskier loves animals, sure, but Geralt has never noticed his apparent preference towards chickens.
In any case, the song has a jaunty enough tune, and Geralt resigns himself to hearing frequent renditions of “My Favorite Cock”.
