“You’re hurting me,” whined Aurelian. “Merlin, please let go! I swear I’m not gonna run. I can’t even go anywhere because I’m—”
Merlin paid no attention to his words and threw him roughly inside the Physician’s chambers. Gaius watched with mild interest from his work bench and frowned when he saw the boy. “Who the fuck are you?” asked Merlin, picking up a broom from the floor and twirling it in his hands expertly.
Aurelian sighed. It was like nobody actually paid attention to his words. “Prince Aurelian of Camelot,” he repeated duly. Gaius’ interest was further piqued as he put down his books and turned to the commotion.
“Impossible. Are you a sorcerer out to kill Arthur?” asked Merlin harshly. No point beating around the bush. To his shock, the boy snorted. “What is it?”
“That’s right, Merlin,” he said in a tone awfully similar to Arthur’s. “I absolutely travelled back in time just to do my own father in.” He laughed as Merlin’s jaw dropped open.
Or Arthur's (alleged) son travels back from the future and of course Merlin has to somehow send him back without causing massive panic. This is far easier said than done in his humble opinion.

Summary

Maybe it was just another "silly feeling", but Merlin knew this wouldn’t end well.

Merlin knows something is wrong with Arthur's childhood friend that is visiting, but Arthur refuses to see it. They've survived so many trials together: war, grief, realizing years of lies. Will this be the thing that finally causes an irreparable rift?
Merlin's starting to think it might.

Elyan frowns. "Don't talk about it often? This entire kingdom does nothing but talk about it. Your father had it outlawed, Arthur."
What?
"Had it outlawed? Really?" Percival asks, and Leon's expression surely mirrors Arthur and Percival's. "I knew it was frowned upon, but I didn't think it was outlawed."
There's a beat of silence, where everyone is looking very confusedly at one another, and Leon is beginning to think that they're not all having the same conversation.

It hadn’t been so bad, watching the soldiers carry the accused out of the castle, iron chains wrapped tight around her wrists. Seeing them bind her the pyre, stacked high with firewood from the castle’s store. Observing as they removed the gag from her mouth, offering her the chance for last words, though she did not elect to take it.
The boy watched with morbid curiosity. For goodness sake he jeered along with the crowd, clapped when his father spoke the sentence one final time, and stared, transfixed at the flickering torch in the knight’s hand before he lit the pyre.
And then the screams started.

The aftermath of an assassination attempt sent him, injured, stumbling into Arthur's chambers to fulfill his promise. Once he did that, he figured he could finish getting ready for the visiting delegation and wrap up his chores. He wasn't sure why Arthur was being so weird about it. He was only lightly shot.
