Lan sighed happily, then, not wanting to get out of the shower and not being at any risk of using all the hot water, he set aside his flannel and rubbed soap on his bare hands.
He lathered up his hands and spread the soap over his skin slowly, gently, letting the bubbles caress him. By the time he spread the soap down his flat stomach to the fine patch of hair there, his prick had perked up hopefully.
He hadn’t had the time, privacy, or level of relaxation needed to take himself in hand in quite some time. Besides, Moiraine was still asleep, so he had a few minutes to himself. Truly to himself. The thought of a few minutes of privacy for this felt decadent.

Shielding removed the taint from his body and being unshielded again flooded his body with the taint.
There in the Ways Rand, Moiraine and Lan learn something new about the taint and about Lanfear.Rand loves Lanfear, but he also comes to see just how much he needs her how valuable she is.

Summary
Inspired by an old WoT RP game that was set to have original characters roughly 300 years prior to the beginning of the main series. The characters in this work have ancestral ties to some of the actual WoT characters, but they are all originally created for this story.
Roughly 300 years before the events of the main series, Kayena, a noble girl from Shienar, becomes a runaway novice upon hearing the news of her older brother disappearing in the Blight. A Dreamer, with no actual guidance in the Tower, she follows a dream where she sees herself cradling her wounded brother in the valley of Thakan'dar. She travels north and joins a legion of Borderlanders patrolling the Kandori border with the Blight. Pretending to be a young boy from Arafel orphaned during a Trollocs raid on his village, she begins training with swords under the supervision of a young Malkieri soldier whose father is the Captain-General of Malkier's Royal Guard. Fearing being caught and returned to the White Tower, Kayena avoids encountering the Aes Sedai that follow the legion to offer Healing. Keeping to herself, she continues her training in hopes to improve her skill enough to cross into the Blight in search of her missing brother.
