The idea of his baby brother walking away from the Estate with the confidence of a Pillar made his stomach twist into painful knots. A demon slayer was already a prime target for demons - a feast for those around them. But a Hashira was different - they were targets for the Upper Ranks and the most dangerous enemy for someone like Kibutsuji. The most ferocious, determined warriors that were forever labeled the strongest of the Corps.

Yet a difference is always made in so many and all universes, as this one itself. Many would clam this is the first or the original, yet infinity is what it is. Everything is possible yet held down by chains of who believe they know what is and is not, yet seven was never a big number till you add more next to it. Just like any number, an infinity of numbers in the same or different order. As if any world, time or day it was still a test, a game, even knowledge and curiosity of what was known and unknown.

Detective Gavin Reed, under the premise of repaying his debts by bringing a certain "Richard" to Detroit, is taken to a lighthouse in the middle of the Atlantic ocean by two mysterious figures and left there in the rain. With no other choice, he explores the lighthouse and discovers a rocket taking him to a city above the clouds. Columbia is where he would find this person he's supposed to bring back to Detroit with him.
What was supposed to be a simple escort mission turns into an unintended war with the head of Columbia, Amanda Stern.
His mission to bring Richard back to Detroit in itself is already complicated enough. It does not help that his new charge is very attractive and very much Gavin's type. It is not his fault that he's falling for that stupid face. Or those piercing blue eyes. Or the way Richard takes none of his shit. Or this invisible string that seem to tug him towards the other no matter where they are or how far apart they are.
