Life together makes a pattern of agreements and arguments. The potentials of death makes the bond all the more tension packed. “Hm, yes, that is fine, Light-kun,” L said in a rather dismissive tone before continuing quickly, “But are you sure you want me to pick where we go next?”
It wasn’t that L was opposed to the idea, he was just surprised. After all, why was Light entrusting him with a decision such as this? He didn’t even know what kind of date Light would want to go on… was he more old-fashioned and only liked dinner dates? Or did he want to do something different this time, like go to the movies?
“Well, when you say it like that, it almost makes me nervous.” L could hear the smile in Light’s voice once again. “But, to answer your question… Yes. It’s only fair. Pick wherever you want, I don’t mind.”
… Fair?
L was silent for a moment before he said quietly, “Okay, Light-kun.”TL;DR: Lawlight go on a second date and Light is just like “hey, why don’t you pick where we go this time??” (bad idea).

Summary
After their conversation in the rain, Light decided he wouldn't kill L yet, not until he was fully convinced that Light was cleared of any and all guilt, finally barring Light from any future suspicion. Only then would he kill L and continue on to create his perfect world unhindered. In order to achieve this, however, he had to kill an inmate he didn't know the name, face, or location of, and with no death note. He simply had to lose his memories again, relying on Rem, the shinigami who disliked him greatly, and Misa, an impulsive airhead. But they hadn't failed him last time, and now he just had to not fail himself.

L had seen Light seemingly change his demeanour repeatedly throughout their time knowing of one another, from his cagey, carefully crafted responses, to his passionate outbursts. It was almost like a switch was being flipped back and forth, and at the moment, as L awaited the results of his 13 day rule experiment, Light is back to being wide-eyed and 'innocent.' Only this time, there is something else there that L can't quite yet identify. He knows Light has a plan, and L has to figure it out and prove once and for all that Light is Kira. ... Right?

“I find carrot cake to be quite nice,” Ryuzaki replied, his brand of dry humour making Light crack a small smile. Ryuzaki stared at him, expression seemingly blank, and although Light was unable to determine what exactly he was thinking, he could wager a highly likely estimation; Still, as always, trying to decide whether or not he was Kira.

Light left Ryuk to Sayu, who is having a blast just chilling. At least Ryuk provides Light with some enrichment and keeps him updated. L has been bored and dissatisfied since he locked Light away. He hears about an assassination attempt of an unkillable being. Obviously, he is intrigued. L carves out a space for himself and Light in this government case. L is now teaching Government and Law with his assistant teacher Light Yagami, Kira. How hard can teaching really be for them? They are geniuses who love winning; they can definitely find a way to kill this being.

As Light walks onto Geidai’s campus, her mind is quiet and calm. She walks through the sculpture studio to get to the oil painting one, as she does every day. She expects it to be empty. It’s rather early, and most students don’t even come in when it isn’t an instruction day. Light can’t help but stop moving when she spots somebody she’s never seen before.
Light is positive this girl does not attend TUA, she knows every one of her peer’s names and faces, as any amicable student would. While Light is aware most would just leave her be, non-students aren’t allowed to use the schools materials and facilities. She cannot just stand by.
