The way this is written tickles my brain in all the good ways.
Death note the virus? Kira is essentially a biological weapon and "god of the new world". Light was raised in a cult and is now their like saviour. Deathnote turns people into shinigami or weird blobs / kills them... Misa also has it in her blood? Light is now with L and co and they're really cute

Summary
In an attempt to cure his aversion to women, and intimacy with them, Light started dating Misa. She ended up pregnant, his parents disowned him, he was forced to drop out of high school, and he still doesn’t like girls, not even the one who had his child. Only now he’s raising his daughter by himself while Misa is on constant tours and he doesn’t even have his family to comfort him through the deterioration of his dreams.
The last person he expects to find solace in is the savant detective who should probably be catching the rampant serial killer in Japan instead of trying to seduce a stay at home dad.

On one hand, Light could count the number of times throughout the entirety of his relationship with L that he had ever gone to bed willingly. Without a fight, or without the promise of sex should he actually attempt to sleep and not spent the entirety of the night staring at either Light or whatever screen he’d managed to haul into their bedroom. It was a rare occasion, usually prompted by the closing of a case or Light approaching the end of his rope to the point of contemplating suffocating his lover.
However, even rarer of an occasion was L going to bed first.

L sighed, pausing from where he was kneeling in front of Li- Kira's feet. It was all hitting him now- the reality of it all. This wasn't a game anymore. He was going to die, and he was going to die today. Kira had won.

Summary
Alone in the bathroom, with a leash connecting him to L on the other side of the door, Light stares at his reflection in the mirror. Solitary confinement has done a number on him, dark circles rivalling L’s surrounded by gaunt, sickly skin. His eyes are tired and dim, and his shaking hands look weak under the artificial light.
How could L suspect someone so weak of being Kira? he wonders, anger flaring in his chest. Can’t he see that Kira has destroyed him, too?(my take on yotsuba arc, light's pov)

Summary
In a slightly happier world where the Death Notes are less used, the brilliant detective L and first-year college student/NPA volunteer Light solve cases the world over without much challenge at all. To alleviate the boredom of their simpler work as the Kira case lies dormant, each independently takes up a vastly more trivial but surprisingly difficult mission in his free time: Light wants to scare off the mysterious, eerie brat who dares to take his baby sister on secret dates, while L wants to protect his baby brother from the highly irregular misfortune that seems to ensue whenever he hangs out with this new friend of his. With the two of them going all-out in a battle of wits, the task force - or even the city - might be in trouble before long...
(Near doesn't really get the point of this whole endeavour, but after a fashion Sayu is elated about the sheer number of embarrassing stories and photos she'll be able to trot out at their big brothers' eventual wedding.)
