“You don’t know? You can’t tell?” Logan demanded, his hysteria thinly veiled.
“Know what? About alpha dude-bros?” Wade asked, voice rising with his own poorly concealed panic. “You know, usually, I can tell when someone gives off those vibes, but I’m kinda getting mixed signals here. Are you calling me an alpha-male?”
“Yes?” Logan said, almost desperately.
“Cool. Cool. Cool. Okay. So, why don’t you tell me what you think that means? I’ve read way too much fan fiction to react accordingly to that.”
...Or, When Logan discovers that secondary genders don’t exist in Wade’s universe, he can finally relax after centuries of omega hate. Things get complicated when Wade starts displaying signs of an alpha and Logan secrets risk getting exposed.

Peter was officially going to scalp his new roommate; he was entirely capable of it with a drawer full of pretty knives MJ got him as a housewarming gift, and enough fury to overcome his lack of skill in skinning people. Peter tapped his foot anxiously underneath the metal desk of his loft bed and thumbed at his temple in irritation. There was a set of calculations spread out in front of him in his familiar messy scrawl that was very important for him to successfully acquire his PhD and move on to being one of the youngest scientists in Stark Enterprises; unfortunately, these calculations meant absolutely nothing to Peter’s brain because he was too busy holding back the urge to murder his roommate who was having very very loud sex right next door, and quite literally everything (from the squelching to the slapping) was audible through his paper-thin walls.
“Ah, yeah— right there, daddy!”
The sound of Peter’s last thread of restraint snapping wasn't even audible over the whorish moans coming—presumably—from his roommate's mouth.

The first time he hears it is actually in that goddamned Honda Odyssey.
He's got Logan on his back, his blood is dripping into Logan's mouth, and the maniac grins, this ferocious, alight sort of smile, and right before Wade gets shot straight through the roof of the van, he swears that he can hear a low, steady rumble somewhere under all the wet sounds of blood-soaked breaths and angered growls.
Since people don't purr, he's actually pretty sure it's a rattling wheeze; a horrible wet asthmatic sound because Wade has a knife in his lung, but that doesn't mean he's not going to be an asshole about it.
"Aw, listen to that, is kitty purring?" Wade jeers, twisting his knife in Logan's chest. "Kitty's happy to get put in his place?"

"God, what would I do without you?" Wade sighs dreamily, turning down a new aisle, pushing the cart merrily along in front of him. Logan smiles, watching him. Mary Puppins snorts quietly, wriggles into a more comfortable position in Logan's jacket. "Pretzels," Wade sings out, swiping a bag into the cart, "and--ah, there it is!" He reaches out, leaning across the cart to the other side of the aisle for the packet of taco seasoning he sees on the shelf, but he's just a little too far away, and--
And it doesn't matter, because the envelope flies two feet into his hand.
That's--that's not a trick of the light. That wasn't a fucking optical illusion. Wade gasps, his eyes slowly swiveling from the packet of seasoning in his hand up to meet Logan's gaze.
"Logan," he says, eyes wide and solemn as he stands there in the middle of the Trader Joe's, "I think I just used the Force."

Everything ended that night, and every day since then was the same long-ass bar crawl trying to find enough whiskey to drown in for a few minutes of relief, because then I could forget that I had something, and I threw it away. I’m not doing that again, not with you, not with any of this.”
Logan’s breath is ragged, his eyes burning, though he refuses to let the tears fall. Wade has been nodding silently with him as he speaks, agreeing with everything he’s said.
Two broken men who know what’s it’s like to lose everything, their souls shattered only to be glued back together with spit and duct tape.
Kintsugi only works if there’s enough of the original to be made beautiful again. Maybe one day there will be, and the holes that hollow them out will be filled by each other.
Logan only knows that in this moment he is seen, and loved, and that is all that matters.

While he was sitting on his chair, munching his food and watching Wade retell every tiny thing he’d seen on his way to get the food, it suddenly hit him.
He really, really liked Wade. And no matter what Logan had thrown at him so far, shown him so far, he’d always reacted with grace. Not only could Logan not hurt him physically in a lasting way, the things that had driven people away in the past didn’t seem to bother him in the slightest.
Yesterday, Wade hadn’t run away after learning his secret, or been disgusted, or anything. No, he had been gentle with him. And now here he was, the next morning, with food and stories, gesturing widely while telling them.
Watching him was like watching life itself, always moving, heart beating away against all odds. It dawned on Logan that he wanted to use this second chance he’d been granted to live . And life and Wade seemed, at this point, absolutely inseparable.
Even more than that, he also just - really wanted Wade.
