Summary
Hex doesn’t answer, so Barrows asks, “What would you be proud of doing?"
Hex does a lot of bad shit. He does some good shit too, to balance it out.
Mostly, he just fucks up a lot.
Three-Dog likes to call him a paragon. Isn't he, after all? He's out here saving the Wastes, being a do-gooder for a bunch of people who couldn't care less about what he's sacrificing to make this hellhole of a world a better place. He's done so much, just in the pursuit to finish his father's life work and give the Wasteland clean water.
Three-Dog likes to call him a paragon, but what he really is, is just a kid trying his fucking best.

Summary
“What is going on with you?” she hisses. “You’re being really weird, even for you.”
“I am not— weird,” he says. But he’s stiff. Evading her gaze.
She narrows her eyes at him. Earlier, following her around, and with the sleeping bag— the growling.
As she watches, she realizes he’s being downright squirrely. He knows something is up. He’s just not telling her. She eyes him suspiciously. “You’re not going feral, are you?”
“I am not going feral.”
—
Stuck in the Super-Duper Mart during a storm with Charon, the Lone Wanderer realizes far too late what’s happening. He’s not going feral— he’s in rut.

Charlie had always wanted to leave that damned vault, but the outside world is about what she expected it to be: dirty, violent, basically a wasteland. She's taken quite a liking to her new oversized companion though, so at least she has that going for her.

Summary
“No,” Charon says, crossing his arms. It strains against the contract, but he presses back. “I’m not going anywhere with you unless you explain.”
She glares at him, and boy— that’s familiar.
She breaks first, dropping down on the backless wood-and-metal bench by the doorway. Crosses her arms. “Fine,” she says.
Her feet dangle off the side, dragging through pieces of chipped tile and stone. “I was frozen,” she says. “Like a— a Red Rocket Pop. They told me it was a decontamination shower,” she spits, looking anywhere but at him. “That we’d all get in, change into our suits, and be let into the rest of the vault. Apparently everyone else knew,” she says, bitterly. “Anyway. They woke me up a couple of years ago, and now I’m here. Happy?”
No. He’s not.
But it’s enough for now.

Alternate Vault 101 Experiment AU — Before the war, Charon's contract was held by the daughter of a Vault-Tec scientist. The last time he sees her, it's at the great door of Vault 101, her family leaving him behind to die. But, despite everything, he survives. And then, two centuries later— he finds that improbably, impossibly— so has she.

Summary
“Do you like it?” she asks, taking the yellow-print fabric of her sundress between her fingers.
“Yes,” Charon says. And then, almost like it pains him to say aloud, to express his feelings— “You look very pretty.”
“Thank you, Charon,” she says, and then to show her appreciation that he’s trying to be more vocal— for her, for their son— she raises up on her toes to kiss his mouth. When she settles down, she plays with the string at her breasts, holding the top closed with a bow she’d tied just below the halter top. “I thought it might be good to have something easy to remove,” she says. “To make it easier to feed Jamie, and,” she says, tugging the knot free, her breasts spilling over, “his Daddy.”

Summary
To Butch DeLoria, there was no shadow greater to be in than that of the Lone Wanderer's. Drifting through the Wasteland as freely as the wind and as far as the road would take her -- the Wanderer was as a fabled hero to the Wastes as she was an enigma to the few remaining in her life. There was never any telling when the last time the Wasteland would see or hear of the Lone Wanderer… until that day had finally come.
It would be the last night Butch saw her again, for real this time. She knew this all along. Though had he’d known, then maybe he would have been more honest with her about their relationship from the start.
A story about a naive boy desperate to bring new meaning to his life and a girl desperate to forget the life she once had. A blooming relationship amidst a growing tragedy.

Summary
*Slowly Remastering & Updating* Weapon is as weapon does. But it's the doing that makes the danger. What if Charon's contract isn't what he thinks it is? Reef seems to have gotten herself into one hell of a mess.
This fic takes a dark turn after Chapter 20, including A Dead Dove Chapter at 22. Trigger warnings may not be exhaustive, read with care.
I'm a happy ending kinda gal though - I think?..? :) -

Summary
Charon had encountered a number of vault dwellers in his long, many years of living. An unremarkable lot, in his experience; many were too green for the wasteland, too soft. Do-gooders, too accustomed to the safety of a vault’s walls around them.
He didn’t know what the fuck was wrong with this one.
In which Charon's contract is acquired by a young, fresh-faced Lone Wanderer with a chip on her shoulder. A close encounter in the metro tunnels nurtures a deep, mounting tension between the two, which quickly builds to an impassioned breaking point.
'Quinn owned his contract, and by extension, him—however, in this moment, he had an opportunity to claim a sense of ownership over her, and that idea was thrilling.'

She thinks that the barest of kindnesses— his own space, enough to eat, caps— are enough to make up for the fact she has him fuck her every night.
A gilded cage is still a cage.
—
The Lone Wanderer is under the impression she and Charon are in a relationship. Charon is not under that same impression. What he thought was the twist of a knife was really just— the insecurity of a stupid little girl who didn’t understand the rules.

Lone Wanderer Samael didn’t intend to leave Vault 101. He didn’t intend to walk into the Ninth Circle and buy a slave. And he certainly never intended to fall head over heels along the way for the one person who couldn’t tell him ‘no’.

Summary
Join Lucy and Dogmeat on a 13-month journey through time as they are sent into the year 2076, 13 months before the Great War.
Seven Years after Lucy begins her Wasteland journey, she’s settled down on a growing Brahmin farm with Cooper. Unable to locate Janey, the two have resigned themselves to following breadcrumbs of leads.
While Lucy is out feeding the cattle one morning, she and Dogmeat are sent through a portal to 2076.
Lucy finally gets to meet her favorite actor, Roosevelt. She gets a job on the set of The Man from Deadhorse.
If she tries undermining Vault Tec while she's there, well whoopsie.
Meanwhile in 2303, Cooper is having his own history rewritten in increasingly debilitating flashbacks. He needs to get help to keep their farm afloat for the next year.
Cooper calls in a favor from an old war buddy, who sends his assistance in the form of a former Vault dweller and his aging grandmother. Together they hold down the fort while Lucy spends her time in the past learning the location of her step-daughter.
Cooper gets to chill in a tank as a mad scientist's experiment for a year while his memories get rewritten.Series

Fantastic! Even though it jumps around from pov and time period, everything is so interesting that I don’t mind it.
