    The figure stepped forward into the light and Lothiriel gasped. It was a woman, but she seemed to be almost shimmering in the darkness, Lothiriel could see the wall of her chambers through her! The woman had a startled look on her face as if she had not expected the young princess to notice her.

    “You can see me?” The woman asked in a soft voice.

    Lothiriel nodded, “Yes, I can see you…” As the women came closer, Lothiriel could begin to make out her features. She had long hair that looked black but it was hard to tell. Her skin was pale, her eyes a soft green and she wore a blue dress with a mantle of stars. She looked familiar somehow. “Wh-who are you?”

    The woman paused, “I am Finduilas.”

    “Finduilas? My aunt Finduilas? But she is dead!”

    “Yes. I have been dead for almost 25 years now.”
