The Moon Tribe artifacts you've seen, handled, helped dismantle and reassemble...every one has had a feeling of being alive, artificial creations of metal and stone that nonetheless have a life to them. What hangs above your head now has none of that—the empty city is grey, the blue traceries dark and so dulled that the surface scarcely seems marked.
