Summary
Somehow, despite everything you know, you did not expect there to be cities. And there are cities—towering, alien, and inarguably dead. The Moon Tribe artifacts you've seen, handled, helped dismantle and reassemble...every one has had a feeling of being alive, artificial creations of metal and stone that nonetheless have a life to them. What hangs above your head now has none of that—the empty city is grey, the blue traceries dark and so dulled that the surface scarcely seems marked.
"It's all dead," you murmur, and Issun sighs from his place at the controls.
"It's been dead for five hundred years. We're here to see someone who remembers it from when it was alive."
The Scholar is invited to visit the Moon on a private mission with Chibi and Issun.
